Nakai took a singing lesson once and i think he didn't do it for nothing. At least he has improved a lot now eventhough he's still the worst singer in SMAP.

Btw, I really like their ending song with Daniel Powter, they make me really proud for singing the songs well. Now, everytime i listen to Daniel Powter's songs it always reminds me of his performance with SMAP ^^

Me sometimes sweat a lot... Then after they finished singing,, I went PHEW~~~ :sweat: :sweat:

Another thing makes me worried,,, that is their english pronouncation... :rofl: Sounds funny... :hehe: I wonder if the guess had laugh at them with this b4??? :crazy:

For me, I like Goro's singing the best. He has got the best voice I feel..very comfortable listening to him singing...

The worst is (Gomen)...Nakai...you guys know why ne~~~

My dad actually like Tsuyoshi's singing the best! And my sister say that Takuya's singing to like too 'rough'...

I don't consider myself a BIGGGGG SMAP fan. In all honesty, I'm more of a Kimura fan than anything else. I would rate my SMAP knowledge as 6/10 and my Kimura knowledge as 9/10.

But I've grown to like SMAP more and more and as that happens, more questions pop up. So these are some questions that I hope the more knowledgeable SMAP fans can answer

1. In the variety show that Nakai took care of a baby, WHAT WAS MIHO DOING AT THE SxS FILMING PLACE? Was she waiting for Goro to end work or something? If so, it's sweet :D


2. What is the real deal between Nakai and Goro? Do they really have nothing to talk about and can't get along?


3. Is Tsuyoshi scared of Kimura? They don't seem to talk much to each other.


4. Why is Shingo always bullying Goro? Isn't Shingo younger.. he must be really daring to bully a senior! Poor Goro, I like him a lot and my heart aches when Shingo and Nakai bullies him :(



5. Does Goro smoke? The rest of the members all seem to be heavy smokers.

Just pop in to say hi...and to see whats up. Sasuga minna....you guys are so fast!! If i didnt log in today, ill have a bad time tommorow to catch up.

(BTW, malaysians 101.8 FM playing all the japanese songs, currently Mika Nakashima - Glamourous Sky)

Anyway just my 2 cents worth about minna debating who's good at what and who's singing is good/bad and who's dancing is good/bad.

It may sound very very weird to everyone but my personal feeling is all of them is just as good. It maybe be a little off when they sing individually, but when they sing together, its really awesome.

i personally feel that Nakai's singing is quite sexy...he is such a good rapper! with is coarse voice it just so sexy.
All singers voice are equally good...but i dont really like goro's voice...dunno why just dont like it.

Anyway....I hope takuya did read the letter....sigh.... :fingerscrossed:

really? i'm totally the opposite. I really look forward to Nakai's solo coz he always does something crazy during his solo :hehe: I love his voice though in concerts (except his solo on SU concert :grumble:) But do you notice that Nakai actually can sing quite well in concerts?

Ah this reminds me of the first time we watched Pop Up. When it was Nakai's turn to sing it turned out that he could sing it well. Unconciously we all clapped our hands, so very proud of him :hehe:

I know that too,,, but dun they think that SMAP is so well talented??? Although they cant sing that well,, but they did do well in others, deshou??? Band is not just for singing,, but for anything that can entertain ppl,, deshou??? :crazy:

johnny produces IDOLS...
their attraction lies more on their surface.. esp for the younger generation.. i think they have little substance...
many of them cant sing, act ,etc well....

Takuya's singing tends to get very forceful sometimes even at parts where the force is not required... quite irritating sometimes...
even though im most crazy over him.. but i admit i dont really like his vocals...

2. Nakai feels bored when he talks to Goro,, dunno y,, just his personal feelingz,, Not he dun like him,, but he just feel bored... :puppydog:

3. Nope, Tsuyoshi is not scared to Kimura,, he admire him so much,, he alwayz says that Kimura-kun is so multi-talented and sexy,, Whatz the clue he can make that??? :crazy: He alwayz asked himself.. But sometimes,, yea,, he's afraid of Kimura,,, an episode of sxs long time ago,, when Tsuyoshi hit every member's head,,, (Kimura is the last),, the time when he hit,, Kimura-kun looks very scary,, and like wanna give him a big HIT,, he's so scared that time,, :sweat:

4. Coz Goro is simply so quiet and gentle,, he never fight back,, so thatz y ppl alwayz like to bully him.. :rofl:

5. Yes, Goro smokes,, but sometimes,, Tsuyoshi quit it long time ago... The worst is the eldest and the youngest... :shamefulcry:

Thanks SMAPxELAINE! Yes I've watched SMAP PAPA. I'm just surprised that they (Johnny's) allowed Goro and Miho to share a scene together.

1. The variety show was called Satasma, hosted by both Nakai and Shingo(Shingo mama is very famous) where they have to help people in various kind of jobs. Miho usually help Nakai taking care of babies and cleaning houses(not always appeared in that show) but sometimes she would helps Shingo too.

2. I don't know how to describe the relationship between Goro and Nakai, ti's just weird. They can't get along very well and Nakai always ended up teasing Goro in various occasions, even in front of the kouhai. Maybe it's because of Goro's 'my pace' attitude when they were younger or their personalities cannot match. there was one episode of Utaban where Goro went to promote his single in 2004. Nakai made fun of him in the whole show and talked a lot about their junior days.

3. Yes, Tsuyoshi does respect Takuya, yet he is somehow scared of Takuya sometimes, which caused Tsuyoshi doesn't talked much with him. Takuya frequently complains about Tsuyoshi's drinking habit though. I remember once Tsuyoshi told Shingo in SxS that he felt uneasy when he's alone with Takuya. Takuya take care a lot of the younger ones and dicipline them, so he is like playing the father role in Smap.

4. I don't know how to explain this too, it's about the same like Nakai. Yanie's post about relationships between Smap members many pages ago was very well described.

5. Yea, they were heavy smokers, except Tsuyoshi quited smoking years ago. I do think that Goro smokes, but not that much as the other 3. I have never seen him smokes in variety shows either, very seldom in dramas or public too.

Nakai uses the name Mappy when he wrote lyrics for Smap's songs, like 5 True Love, 5 Respect..

Personally I don't mind about his singing much, just that sometimes he PURPOSELY making it worse like in Utaban and shouting(Toilet Paper man).

I think the younger members(Goro, Tsuyoshi and Shingo) called Nakai and Takuya by family name in respect to them. They added the suffix 'kun' when they call Nakai and Takuya, where else Nakai and Takuya don't each other with 'kun', because they're same age(and high school buddies). And why Goro is 'Goro-chan'? I think the members are simply picking on him and they get used to it. That's why Tsuyoshi seldom call him Goro-chan anymore but Goro-san.

Heh... The rule that Johnny's artist can't appear with their girlfriend seems like doesn't work on Ayumi and Nagase though, they appeared on the same stage together every year. That's possibly because it's a music program and Ayumi is still very influential in Japan music industry.

I think Ellena(ladyusagi) had posted here the clip, some screencaps and a report a month ago about it(thanks alot, Ellena!!! :woot:). But I'll post the complete transcript of Nakai-Nino talks.

In the beginning of show, Nakai's wish for 2007 is shown on the big screen:

Nakai: I got it once...but somehow my voice was kinda covered with effects...my voice sounds like a radio voice... It was in FLY song... I want to sing the osabi verse with my own voice, without the effects.

Actually, Kimura admit it too in recent WUS. When Shonentai guests in SxS, he realized that SMAP is not strict enough in dancing rehearsals^^
