that was the first ever smap concert video i got. my uncle, aunt and their friends who all came from japan visited us when i was 16 and they bought it for me. one of the best ever.

as for mori... i was just about as emotional as the other members when i heard he was leaving. i totally remember when i heard it too. it sucked because i had JUST gotten into smap seriously. i had known bout them because of mori and because i liked mori for quite a while but i didn't care about them that much until a couple months before mori said he was leaving. i watched smapxsmap since the first show. I remember I was at the japanese video rental store like the week or two after smaxsma started and they had the japanese news playing and i saw nakai and mori on the news and I read that it said Mori was leaving and I about dropped the videos. I had my mom confirm what it said and we both listened in shock. and then man... the episode where he leaves... I was bawling. :shamefulcry: i was soooooooooooooo friggin sad. I can't even believe it's almost been 11 years! smap is such an amazing group. i love them all.

Same here,,, When I know SMAP for about 4 or 5 mths,, Mori left,, at first I dunno he left,, just tot that he's on leave,, after a month then I only know that,, when the TV promoted that there is a Mori drama will be shown,, it is said like this "SMAP's ex member Mori Katsuyuki's last drama will be aired on xxx",, then I was totally shocked,,, :shocked: Huh?? Did I hear wrong?? Or They announced wrongly??? How come an EX??? I go search news everywhere (that time no computer for me yet,, :shamefulcry: ) I watched every entertainment show to see if they announced,,, yea.. They did say that Mori left bcoz he wantz to be a motorbike racer,,, it makes me shocked again,,, dunno what to say,,, and I cried,,, I miss the 6 member SMAP,,, only after bout 2 yrs,, I used to it... 5 of SMAP... :puppydog:

well what was worse at the time was not only did mori leave, but of course because mori left, there were smap break up rumors EVERYWHERE. because it was pretty unheard of for a group to just stay together especially an idol group in such situations. not to mention they were saying that takuya was going to leave because he was becoming so big so yeah... of course 11 years later they're still together so i basically had nothing to worry about but still lol. at the time it was nerve racking.

Need a big help from everyone...im almost done with my collection of smap's concert. However i feel like im missing something, dakara, can someone list down the year of concert and the concert title so i can double check?

Yup, I think he has said this time & time again, but forgot when or where...remind me of when Ryo once said, "the day I quit Kanjani8 would be the day I quit the business", and if he quits K8 for NEWS I would truly strangle him to death haha!

Gomen a bit off-topic there, but for me K8 >>> Ryo, what about minna? Is SMAP >>> your ichiban or the other way around? As for me, it's SMAP >>> Kimura-kun. If Kimura ever leave SMAP I'll still support him, but I'll put SMAP above him in everything.

Sometimes I would think how Smap would become now if Mori didn't quited back then. Somehow I feel Smap is destined to be a 5 men group, both Shingo and Goro's names have the kanji go(5). Luckily everything turned back to normal in 2002.... Yokatta.

Thanks, Yanie for translating another Shingo's interview. I really enjoyed all of them. I knew Shingo would answer Takuya when he was asked question like that. In SxS, Shingo said "yYs, Kimura-kun is really kakkoi but Nakai-kun, you're not..." Nakai:"Onaji Koukou desu(We're in same high school".

Haha.. Chinese New Year is near, so I don't think I can online for a week, since I'm going over to my brother's place in KL to celebrate. Hopefully I can get more ang pow to buy more Smap's concert DVD and Snap no Shingo. Maybe now I'll try to translate and cap some parts of Utaban that I really enjoyed.

Haha... If Ryo-chan quits NEWS for K8, I will also fly to Japan to strangle him.... :metaldevil: But I'm the same as you, I still put Smap above Takuya/Nakai in everything....

I'm proud to say that I have most of these! :) And the only one I don't have is SMAP 1st Live 1992 :( Have to try go hunting that down...

cdjapan has it on dvd and vhs. i have the original vhs but i need to eventually get the dvd too lol... it's sooooooooooooooo long ago they're all so tiny

mori wasn't as big as kimura even right before he left... even if he stayed i don't see him ever getting bigger than kimura. i don't mean that in a bad way at all i just never saw him as becoming bigger than kimura. I don't see any of the members getting bigger than takuya overall as much as i love all of them.
