I use PowerDVD. It came bundled with my DVD-ROM reader that I bought a couple of years back...

You might try searching through videohelp.com... :)

well i did try some ... like EZV, Kudos frame grabber .. but did not really hit on someone which would strike out ... either the quality is shit or there r stupid product messages in the screen cap.

My HD is making a weird noise. Just started around last Tuesday.
The sound reminds me of a fan's motor or something. It comes and goes.
*edit* I just did a shut down and turned it back on a few minutes later. Now there is no sound.
Anyone have a diagnosis?

I'd recommend backing up whatever is important to you ASAP. Sounds coming from a drive are often harbingers of DOOM!

That sucks. I've only had this drive since Dec 2003.

Well, you could try reformatting and if it comes up clean continue to use it. If you are conscientious about doing backups, no worries.
