Izukura! Please don't feel bad! Don't worry, you can practice your English here!
I used to feel really shy too, but now I have total fun here, whether anyone else reads my ridiculously long posts or not!
Remember how we talked about the boys each knowing their place in the group? Sometimes I feel like I know my place here too (although there are still times when I don't ). I see a lot of you guys as my sempais and my new friends. :D
Flashback!
arwenna wrote:back to ohno being a leader, they made a good choice when they chose him in the utaban episode. still as a group, they are very cohesive... and i think that is what their new album is all about.. being individuals and yet as a group...
In that
Utaban clip, everyone seemed to pick Ohno probably because he was the oldest, but even then Ohno knew Sho's leader-like personality and picked him instead. XD
But what I think really helps defines Ohno's role as a Leader is his singing. It makes him stand out and allows him to take the lead in a lot of the songs, reflecting back in real life situations. But since Ohno is so short and shy and goofy that his kakkoii-ness on stage usually flies right out of the window.
And even though Ohno himself admits he's not the traditional Leader, the reason he can fit this role is:
1) his seniority makes the other band members respect him (somewhat :P)
2) his singing and dancing talent makes fans and non-fans alike respect him
3) his stability as a good character who can make light of anything helps hold the group and create good relationships with the members and other professionals
Each member also has different unique qualities (like Ohno) that define his place in ARASHI. Over the years they've adjusted and grown accustomed to change as they matured. So as a whole group I can't imagine their roles being any different. They probably could stay afloat in solo careers if the band ever decided to suddenly break up (never! :fingerscrossed:), but together they really set sail and make an impact.
I agree that the
ONE album is probably the best showcase of this. For the first time, we get to hear each individual solo, see the parts more evenly distributed in groups songs (i.e. not always Leader ), and more different blendings of voices and partnerships that I haven't seen in past performances or songs. Each a different shaped cloud, but together an evolving ARASHI.
They were asked which solo they liked, and to stand behind the member of the solo. In the end, the five of them stood one behind each other and formed a little circle. Aiba said, "This is what we mean by 'One'"
End Flashback!
And thank you
lorac81 for posting those e-mails! (I was the one who wanted them, the stalker in me, lol! :hehe:)

I swear, I'm not going to send eccentric English-rambling fanmails! I just wanted to see if we could get our "Gross Food no Arashi" idea to them.
