(*) Here what the singer means is that he's using his cracked pride to fill in the cracks in his heart, but he's also saying that he'd exaggerated how big these holes were. I've gotten a few questions about why I translated the line before as "cracked pride". It's pretty simple...remember that "hibiwareta", or "was cracked", is passive and it's a verbal phrase modifying "puraido", which, not surprisingly at all, means, "pride".
(õ) The translation for this chorus is not very literal at all. I think the singer is portraying the last night he and his friends are having together: "It was like time stopped during that last sunset we had together." (I must emphasize that "terasu"'s literal translation is "illuminate," which has a connotation of a kind of guiding light, one that clarifies, encourages one to move ahead, to discover. It was the sunset that illuminated, or brought to light, their respective and separate futures.) The "night we'll never have again" corresponds to "nido to modorenai", which literally means "will never return a second time". In the next line, the singer finishes his point, saying something of the sort: "In this final night we have together, we'll do all these things that symbolize unity and eternal friendship, but deep down inside, we know that this is our last night and this will have to subside."
(ö) The "a ka sa ta na" refers to the tops of the columns in the classic Japanese hiragana table, or gojuuonzu (read top to bottom, right to left, of course), so basically in English this would be like our ABC's.
(˜) The kanji for the nominal "genzai," which means "the present," is replaced by the synonym "ima" in the reading.
Again, thanks to Uta for looking over the translation and fixing the things that needed to be fixed ^^;;. I hope I'm getting better!
