Spoiler — click to reveal Why in the hell didnt Shindo and Asako hook up? The drama just kind of 'ended'. Maybe it was just me? Is there a special im missing?
I havenft decided yet whether Waterboys is a work of genius, or utter rubbish. I mean, on the surface itfs just a bunch of boys in teeny tiny speedos prancing around, slapping each other on the back, and rising above the criticisms of the general public to do what they love to do best | synchronize swimming. After watching the skinny, sun-burnt pubescent boys shake their severely lacking money-makers, I wouldnft be surprised if viewers find it hard to continue watching the series after the first episode.
But I continued watching.
I continued watching because I found the idea amusing. If you look at the events as satires, it makes sense. I mean, women are always trying to do what men can do. If men can do it, women can, too. Here we have an example of men trying to do something that is predominantly feminine. When they perform, or throughout their dance sequences, when theyfre moving their skinny bodies in less than flattering ways, it made me feel like there was an undertone of mirth, as if the writers/actors are making fun. And itfs definitely funny when watching. Men are doing what women do best, and itfs hilarious. The idea of synchronized swimming in general is so random hat Ifm sure a group of creators spent hours coming up with the idea to begin with. Mix this with a story about friendship and hardship, school spirit and personal satisfaction, and you end up with an okay drama.
Ifm glad I watched the movie first (like youfre supposed to) because it helped me place the plot better. Would I watch this drama again? God no. But I will admit that I had a lot of fun watching while it lasted.

I liked the movie version a lot too and also saw it before seeing the drama.
to me, i liked the drama more though. It was a good length and the whole going through trouble for the final performance and all wasn't overdone

Yesh, I found that as well! Nothing was overdone and you didn't get tired of the obstacles. And they weren't brilliant right from the start, which was unpredictable and I liked it.

Yeap, I don't think the songs used in the finale are available in the OST.
I'm looking for them for quite sometime now.
The songs at the finale of Waterboys 1 includes :
1. The first song played where all the boys rushed out to the pool and made the opening dance.
2. The second song featuring a woman's voice when the fatso asked them to jump to the pool.
3. The 3rd song featuring a duet. It plays during the formation dance (circles, stars). The opening was like "Are u ready? Yes, HEY HEY HEY.."
4. The 4th song played when the boys jump out of the pool and starts dancing in front of the crowd.
5. Subsequently after the 4th song, the fatso starts counting 1,2,3,4 and the 5th song is played.
6. Mmm, dis one is the ochestra stint but I'm not really interested in it.
7. After the 6th song, plays the final song, the theme song Niji which I already have.
I hope you guys can help me find song #1 - 5.
1. "Diamondhead" - The Ventures
2. "Toreador" - Carmen (Opera)
3. "Irrestiblement" - Sylvie Vartan
4. "Only You" - The Platters
5. "Ai no Shirushi" - PUFFY
6. "Gakuen Tengoku" - Finger 5
Whoops, I might've gotten the movie and the drama mixed up!
