a great theory...that probably holds water.....I think they replaced her gray matter with kangoroo meat.....they obviously tried to make her smarter.

Kyoko Fukada stars in first suspense drama

Kyoko Fukada will play the lead in her first suspense drama. In November, WOWOW will air a special titled "Aoi Hitomi to Nuage," based on the novel by Keisuke Matsuoka.

Fukada plays Erika Ichinose, a clinical psychologist who is recruited by the National Police Agency in an attempt to stay one step ahead of a bomb terrorist. The role is said to be a departure from the often silly characters she has played in her ten-year acting career, as her agency is hoping to develop her into a more mature actress.

<who the hell waits TEN YEARS to begin developing into a more mature actress....ridiculous...even the Japanese media admist her characters are silly. Enogh said.>

after 10 years of playing dorks for the most part i think it will be challenging for her to re-cast herself as a serious actress.

Almost impossible IMHO. I wonder how much money on bribes and kyabakura her agency spent on the producers. :sweat:

She mentioned in an interview for Shimotsuma Monogatari that she actually likes gothic lolita clothing herself, and would prefer to wear the darker clothing if she were allowed to. (Not an exact quote, just the general idea. I was surprised to hear her say that! At least she has some personality :))

She has quite a few pix like that in her recent calendars, even tho she probably had nothing to say about that.
