Hello everyone!

I just started to dip into the wonderful world of j-dorama.
Been a long time fan of Asian cinema and Anime, but Live Action Doramas (especially japanese ones) are pretty new to me.

Yesterday I finished watching Summer snow and GTO.
Loved them both, especially Summer snow. One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen on TV. Loveable characters, wonderful music and amazing athmosphere.

I also liked GTO, but I prefer the anime to the live action.

So I started downloading a few Doramas from the Top 50 list.
I got:

Nobuta wo produce
Ichi Ritoru no Namida
Beautiful Life
Hana Yori Dango
Love Generation
Attack No.1
Densha Otoko
Beach Boys
Long Vacation
Gokkusen

I'm gonna watch them all in the next few weeks. Any other MUST SEE's I missed so far? I'd really like more serious Doramas along the lines of Summer snow. Altough I wouldn't mind a Dorama without sick people for a change. Ichi Ritoru no Namida is pretty heavy as far as I've heard, not sure If I'm gonna watch that or not.

But now I'd like to have some recommendations on Doramas that are currently aired and fansubbed each week, so I have a few Doramas I can watch on a regular basis, other than watching 12 episodes in one or two sittings.

I really like Doramas with goofy humor like GTO/Gokkusen, but I'd really prefer the more serious type like Summer snow or Love generation.
I'd really appreciate it if someone could name me a few titles I could check out.

bye,
Atro

I'll definitely do that.
Grabbing Hero right now.

Thanks for the recommendations so far.
If anyone has more good stuff, just keep 'em coming. Especially new/unfinished ones.

Well, since you've got Nobuta wo Produce on your list, you might want to check out Kurosagi. We're working on uploading that on Asian Drama Downloads. :woot:

Let me add on the recommendations on the "goofy yet emotionally attached series" list the trio of Last Christmas, Kekkon Dekinai Otoko, and Kimi Wa Petto. Each of them have their own traits of goofiness combined with relationships that develop over the course of their respective series.

Last Christmas would be the primary recommendation there though. Albeit the theme is seasonal, the overall tone of the series itself is both heartfelt and charming at the same time. It's one of the few series I have left directly on my computer instead of archiving it with the rest of the series I've watched, and really wished they had thrown out a special or two before closing the door completely on the series as the characters are that likable.

5/3/2007 my this week drama recommendation:

'Kekkon Dekinai Otoko' is good and fun show , my two favorite mixture for a good jdrama Comedy+romance - this show is also sometimes simply hilarious. Abe Hiroshi performance is obviously fantastic , he gives a whole new meaning for the word 'weird!!!' - just look at the opening lines of the drama below :

"Shinsuke stands out at the party with his handsome looks. When he learns that a girl at the party is interested in him, for some reason, he starts talking endlessly about architecture, eventually boring the girl."

This drama is highly recommended !!!
12 eps in total
raws available on megaupload - which u can get through livejournal
soft-subs : http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/viewtopic_37044.htm

thanks for reading guyz
kayla

P.S also keen in listening to other people's jdrama recommendation (comedy+romance drama genre only :) )
