^ Hmm, I don't know how you can call Last Friends "Real Life...."

The only out and out serious drama I've seen recently is Nyokei Kazoku...

Ruri no shima?

I am not sure of the similarities between the 3 series you listed... Maybe you can try these. It's pretty rare for a drama to be purely serious without any comedic or melodramatic (subjective anyway) moment.

Ashita no, Kita Yoshio
Boku to Kanojo to Kanojo no Ikiru Michi

Hi,

Of all of the shows I have tried to watch, I have really fallen in love the most with the office dramas. Anego, Haken no Hinkaku and even Ai no Uta to a degree (though it's not full on office drama) have been my favorites so far.

So I am looking for recommendations for new shows to enjoy. Any and all help will be much appreciated!

Best.

Thank you so much! I had head of it before, but had not seen it. Now I think I remember why I had not seen it. I cannot find a decent quality video of it online. Any thoughts? I don't do torrents...

Just finished Muri na Renai. One of the most enjoyable dramas in recent memory. Great acting but that's not all of it. It takes a bit of time to get going so please give it more time when watching it.

A really endearing performance by Natsukawa Yui. :applaud:

I am highly recommending Mr. Brain. I have only watched up to 2nd episode but I am loving it already. It is also informative too. Plus the fact that Takuya is in it too.

I hope we have those gadgets too here in my country. This isn't a love story though more on investigative tv series.

Try MPD Psycho (Taju Jinkaku Tantei Psycho) directed by Miike Takashi, some parts are as nasty as his films. I suppose there also is Ame to Yume no atoni, but it's more of a touching ghost story with some mild horror elements.

Hi everyone. I'm a bit of a horror freak, I loved Hell Girl: Live action series and would really like to find something similar from the Supernatural genre.

I'm also into comedy crime/mystery shows like Mr.Brain or Kiina, so anything either more or less serious then these dramas would also be appreciated :P

Thanks guys.

Ever check out the Kuitan series?

A fun mixture of food obsession and crime drama. :victory:

And there's also the Jiko Keisatsu series... A wacky and entertaining Cold Case-type show. :)

+1 for Kuitan 1 & 2. Hilarious! :victory:
