eien Bussan wrote:I just finished watching a fairly new drama called "Hikaru To Tomoni" (Together with Hikaru)...man...they don't call that time slot "Tears Wednesday" for nothing!

It's about how a mother copes with her 7-year-old autistic son, but she can only do so with the support of the friends and family around her. Unlike a lot of Japanese dramas, "Hikaru to Tomoni" has a very realistic atmosphere and manages to hit home at least once per episode. I don't think I have a heartstring left that hasn't been tugged at yet!

What makes it even better is that even though it has such a heavy plot, it's not dark at all! There's enough humor to keep you smiling so you don't get all depressed after watching it like you would with such dramas as Miseinen and Seija No Koushin.

The cast really helps as well. Shinohara Ryoko is at her very best portraying a genuinely caring mother who wants the best for her son, and by doing so, sometimes gets irritated and over-whelmed. It's Hikaru's teacher's job (played by the great Kobayashi Satomi) to make sure that Hikaru's mom does not push Hikaru too hard and to make sure she doesn't get over-heated. Takeda Shinji is also great as a weak and naive teacher who still tries his best....I'd forgotten what an awesome actor he was!

I'm having such a difficult time describing my thoughts for this drama in words...but I can say for sure that no time will be wasted with this drama! You just have to see it for yourself! Really gotta applaude NTV for this one!! :applaud:

Yeah...both Hikari to Tomoni and Ryoko Shinohara herself were voted Best Dorama and Best Actress respectively in The Television Spring Dorama Awards. They deserve it!

It was cool, cuz I learned more about autism in classes. I think its important to learn about the various disabilities peoples have so we don't just label them as retarded or helpless.

Yea what he said.

Hi! I'm watching Trick also. I think it is very good and really funny. I haven't seen that many dramas so I don't know any with them. But I would recommend watching a drama called Hotman. It is very good. I will continue watching Trick and will hope they make a Trick 4!!! :woot:

Best Partner is good. And Hatchobori Seven is excellent. Also enjoyed Concerto quite a bit as well as Mama's genes.

Anyone know if there's any sort of connection between the creators and the people behind the Salaryman Kintaro drama. Some small similarities, like the sumo wrestling to get someone to agree to a job, and the see you next round! line at the end of each episode while Kintaro had see you next fight!. Just wondering.

I subscribe recently on this forum so I'm not an expert in dramas.

I searched dramas in french ( easier to understand for me ) on google, but it's hard to find what I want...
So I tape the keyword "Ueto Aya", pretty cute actress according to me  and I find this :

Name of th movie: Azumi
Actors : Ryuhei Kitamura Aya Ueto Shun Oguri Hiroki Narimiya

Is it a Drama ?
Does it worth to be watched ?
I use the search function on Jdorama... some info are ib the thread of Ueto aya gallerie... But it don't really answer my question ( and the thread is too big )

The resident Aya-chan expert is Elt, er, Eltinator...

From what I know, Azumi is an action drama with lotsa swordplay 'n' stuff... Maybe I'll try to get a copy from Elt on a trade (Trick 3?? :hehe: )...

Jsut started watching Narita Rikon and I immediately had the urge to post it here as a recommendation. Its pretty good, sotry is paced quite nicely...

I've watched Azumi, it's a mix a very good and very bad..
But now I have voted for Aya-Chan, I don't know why :D
