Dear bmwracer,

I have edited my post. I keep forgetting that sometimes my sense of humour is antediluvian and very British. I apologise for being obtuse and believe me it cannot be explained since it probably refers to before your lifetime.

I am not being rude at all I assure you.

I don't think anybody thought you were being rude we just didn't understand the gist of your post.

Ah..that's good.
Well years ago when there was still a British empire people would set out as explorers to wilderness areas etc. Also people would try to break distance or time records in planes. I mean planes with one pilot and room only for fuel and so forth. so there is a dental kit in case a bad toothache appears and people have been knownto have appendicitis but that needs more than one person for help. Medical problems can be dealt with in all sorts of circumstances. Being snowed in during this terribel winter in UK is impossible to believe. they don't clear the roads in the countryside and sometimes not in the towns. Everything comes to a halt. UK is not geared for bad snow. Roses can bloom through Christmas but not this year.

Sorry if I puzzled you.......

BMW,

I decided a long time ago to remain 35 years old. That was a very good year. It's all in the mind. Well isn't everything in the mind.?

My longtime motto is Never Give Up and Never Look Back. Works for me.

Cool.

Negro League baseball pitcher Satchel Paige had a similar saying: "Don't look back--Something might be gaining on you."

Heard about Satchel Paige and his saying.

Mine was from Winston Churchill and I figured if it was good enough for that fine man it is good enough for me. It works anyway.

Regarding weather. does it have any effect on weather when volcanoes are erupting in various parts of the world? I know it can give us beautiful sunsets but it seems to me they have storms within the eruption and I wondered if it spread out over the atmosphere
We have had amazing sunsets the past several evenings here in S.Cal. Have you noticed.

I have noticed... The really high wispy clouds (cirrus?) add to the effect. :victory:

^ So Evie, are iguanas dropping out of the trees?

I just saw a news report about them going into near-suspended animation because of the cold.

We got some light snow this morning. Pretty and not too much of it, just my kind of snow. This weekend we will get freezing temps. I think I heard on the news this morning that 2/3 of the East Coast has freezing temps. Stay warm all of my fellow frozen mates.
