Naw. I noticed that on some pics of her. But then I put on my rose-colored glasses and all is fine. :D
Say what you want! I still love her! :nut:  :hehe:
Y'know... While we're on the subject of Ryoko-chan's eyes. One thing that has bugged me about them is that on most of her photos, her eyes look somewhat puffy, with thicker skin underneath them, sort of like she didn't get enough sleep. Then, in other photos, her eyes are really smooth with no bags underneath. Are those photos just re-touches by the photographer? Or, does she do something to tighten up the skin?

Good question. I noticed that when I first saw her on Musashi and the "puffiness" seemed to vary with camera angle and her head position... At first, it sorta bugged me, but I've accepted it as a unique, adorable trait... Man, those rose-colored glasse are workin' overtime today! :hehe:
A little late but i would say more on the cute side (cute and sexy are opposites i believe  )BECAUSE sexiness is a very ubiquitous (spelling!?!)trait but that cuteness is sorta rare in my very humble opinion...I won't even get into how i differentiate between cute and sexy i think i could teach a set of classes on that :P
(Ryoko-chan is in between not so much on either side so she can go either way :naughty: )
I guess I'll put in my 2 cents worth here in this thread. It seems to me, depending on where you are living, sort of dictates how one chooses, either sexy/femme fatale look, or the cute/youthful look.
(IMHO) In America and western Europe, "sexy" is more marketed. You get the Spears, Pam Anderson, Berry, and all the western stars with the body-first mentality. Hense when it comes to plastic surgery, it's always the implants, tummy tucks, smaller rears, always gets the headlines. Therefore in the west, hourglass figures and especially nice cleavage are what sells.
Not just in JPN, but most of Asia (again, IMO) however, favors the cute/youthful look. When the still taboo subject of plastic surgery will arise from time to time, most insiders will agree that if any is done, more than likely it's done on the face, such as botox, getting double eyelids, and anything done face-wise, instead of on the body. In this aspect, more work is done on the face to get a youthful look. In a marketability stand point, Asians pop stars, especially the girls have a VERY limited shelf life, so one woulfd think they have to stretch out there popularity to be more younger longer, hence the "kawaii" look.
Neither is bad or good, just the way different people have different preferences. I like the hybrid of the 2. (who doesn't right? ;) ). However a cute face is a must. Anything after that would be gravy.
Any of you can disagree with what i just said too. As I said before these were just some of my observations being that I'm living in both cultures.

Hmm. I think that's a pretty fair asessment, Niko.
The US and Europe are pushing out-and-out sex/sleaze in some respects, while Asia has taken a more girl-next-door/fresh-faced look. I tend to like that better: less is more. Leaving something to the imagination is very sexy.

Groink, my second, revised response:
I thought about this a little more and looked over a number of Ryoko-chan's pics and have sorta come to this conclusion: More times than not, when Ryoko-chan gives a big smile or near-big smile, the so-called "puffiness" is apparent, whereas with a little or no smile, the "puffiness" isn't there... So it's basically just part of her facial muscle/skin features, I suppose. *sigh*
 LOL LOL watch yourself with that sig Nhonzin
Sadly i don't think that kind of info is easily (or legally) obtainable but i'm sure you could fire an email off to her public relations people eh? hopefully they speak english :P
