thanks! but i watched this before when they aired it in s'pore. actually, i'm looking for episodes with vivian hsu and onwards. stupid mediacorp aired it without subtitles! :doh: couldn't understand a thing they were saying... :grumble:

Maybe it was on dual sound.. sometimes they(Mediacorp) kinda likes to do that don't they.. But then again.. the dual sounds are in Mandarin and Japanese :doh: :doh: (Double duhh..!) Btw, when was it aired on ch8? or was it on CNA?

it was few years ago on now-defunct cityTV and later on ch8, think bout 2001. it wasn't on dual sound definately, at least in mandarin still can understand but weird la.

I find that I love Gackt even when he's in MM. His make-up is not as thick so I can still see his natural face. And his hair style is quite simply made too. Plus, his voice. I love that voice!!!

I think I would have loved him even if I've never seen what he looks like just by listening to his voice. I've liked one or two singers that way before. A bit of an off-topic thing: there's this Korean singer, don't know if you guys have heard him, Kang Ta. The first time I heard him sing I cried. It was the song, Song for a Lady...and I didn't even know what the lyrics mean at the time.

Same with Gackt...my first intro to him is the Vanilla live perf. But the Todo Kanai PV was the one that got me hooked. Do you guys/gals feel his pain when he's singing it? I did...it made me so eager to know the meaning of the lyrics...and when I got the translation...wow, the words are just beautiful.

There're some songs or lines from Gackt's songs that grab me...like in Le Ciel...where he wrote..."Cut time in two", and in the poem he wrote for Mars (Freesia op.2)..."If I feel something with my fingertips, surely someday again, I'll meet you"

Such understanding....

When will I ever be able to write as beautifully as that? *sigh*

Yeah I agree his voice, I dont know if I'm listening to his music, I can shut out the world around me and enter his...if that makes sense...my sister says that Gackt hypnotizes people and puts them in a trance like a good vampire is suppose to LOL.......

I heard Gackt because I found the songs Mizerable and Secret Garden while looking for japanese rock songs for a Jrock mix...I immediatly loved his voice and felt his pain, so I had to find out more about him Then I googled him and I couldnt believe that the feminine looking guy had such a rich and deep voice...of course now he's not feminine looking to me...

I like his MM days but I love him now I think, as I didnt care for the backing music from before..Now that he gets to compose the music and write the lyrics, I think we get much more of a sense of who he is and what he's trying to convey in his music..

PS. I love Le Ciel too, thinking of making a karaoke video for it

What do you feel when you heard the song Emu ~for my dear~ for the first time? I heard and watched the live perf, the one with some kind of clinging vines all over the mic stand. There's this part in the song where everything's silent...and the audience was screaming his name. I cried and screamed too...thank God I was alone at the time, and at home :sweat: . I couldn't help it. I could listen to that song forever...

But of course now I'm listening to one song after another, coz I'm making it a project of mine to memorize all his songs. I may not understand the words now, but who knows...maybe later I will coz I really wanna learn japanese. Even Vanilla and Papa lapped...make so much sense to me. He inspires me so much. I've not written any poem in almost a year but immediately after reading his lyric translations, I feel I should write more...even though my work may be is kinda crappy compared to his.

gackt's 1st song i heard was vanilla. while watching da pv.. i was thinking,wow this guy looks hot ne...n never really listen to his voice. then i d/l the love letter n kimi ni aitakute... those were da two songs that really hooked me up with gackt. i realized then how beautiful his voice is... n frankly since then i've been just listening to his songs... every single day.

i think... deep inside, gackt has a really beautiful soul. coz i think people wt such beauty only are able to write such beautiful songs.have u guys seen his trip to madagascar... da look on his face when he was with those children, n da way he gets along with the madagascar people... he's so lovely. standing under da hot sun, painting da boats... he's really great. yuppp... i think im head over heel with dis guy... cant help it!! :naughty:

I've discussed Gakkun's voice and lyrics with DIE GACKTSAMA before. I think since he writes the lyrics himself he can put all his expiriences and memories in it (->black stone!!!). he 'captures/hypontises' ppl with his songs because he uses metaphores and 'word plays' that when you listen to the song or read the translation (like me since I don't speak japanese) you will get caught in it! You start thinking: what did he mean by that and try to analyse the song, is it sad, was he happy writing it? who knows?, that makes it so exciting for me to listen to his earlier songs like oasis, mizerable and vanilla! Interpreting is so much fun for me, it gives the feeling of a connection *blush*. the way he expresses his emotions openly it wonderful, not to speak of his paralyzing voice :naughty:

Thank you for all the d/ls minna, I was never interested in MM, because I don't like Visual Key music and the costumes scared me a lil, but since gakkun hardly wears white make-up and is the 'group's voice' I came to like them! :hehe:

sometimes when you read the translations you tend to read between the lines... then this urge wanting to know about him, and why????

with this guy, i give up..... it even makes me try to understand myself..

It's not only that I want to UNDERSTAND HIM, but what he wants to say with the song, the message! His words have sometimes more than one meaning depending on the context and stuff; I'm not trying to find the one and only solution, it's just fun to think about all the different meanings ONLY ONE song can have! *g*
