Popular young actor Shun Oguri will be taking some time off soon, though it will be shorter than expected. For the past year or two, he has been one of the busiest actors in the industry. Just last year, he appeared in four movies (including "Kisaragi" and "Crows ZERO"), two stage plays (including Yukio Ninagawa's "Caligula"), and two drama series ("Hana Yori Dango 2" and "Hanazakari no Kimitachi e"), in addition to his work in commercials, radios, and other media.

Last December, Oguri stated that he was considering taking a long break due to his tiring schedule. Many of his fans have been calling for him to get some much needed rest, and some remained worried when Oguri's agency Tristone announced that he will only be taking off for about 2-3 weeks. Even that won't be a complete break, as Oguri will still be doing bits of work, such as his radio show.

Oguri will reportedly return to his current rate of work in June.

Shun is seriously going to work himself to death :beatyou: I hope he doesn't burn himself out though. If he doesn't slow down, he's going to hate acting and then we won't see anymore of him.

I feel the same way. Hopefully, he won't work himself to exhaustion. But at the same time, I think he really loves what he does and loves every second of it...that's why he's working so hard. However, he does deserve a much needed vacation.

I watched Stand Up two weeks ago and forgot to comment on Shun Oguri's performance.

LOL his charac. suits him. I, err, was kinda happy to see him in a new light. bcoz I'm used to see him in a serious, quiet type man in HanaKimi and HYD. Errr, that's taking Gokusen aside cause I cant remember him there due to my usual mental lapse. :doh:

I don't know if anyone's posted this already, but my friend in Japan just told me that Oguri is dating Yamada Yuu, and the media just found out. Many of his fans are shocked.

Model and actress Yu Yamada is the latest celebrity rumored to be in a relationship with popular actor Shun Oguri. According to the scoop by the Sports Nippon newspaper, the pair started dating just a couple months ago after co-starring in the NTV drama series "Binbou Danshi."

Oguri was previously dating model Miho Tanaka, while Yamada was linked to actor Hideaki Ito. Both couples reportedly broke up around last summer. Oguri was later rumored to be in a relationship with Yu Kashii, but it was proven false after Kashii announced her engagement to Joe Odagiri in December.

Oguri and Yamada worked together in late 2007 for the Japanese dub of the computer-animated film "Surf's Up." But it wasn't until they played romantic interests in last season's "Binbou Danshi" that a real romance started. They apparently began dating in mid-March after filming ended. People close to the two say that it is a serious relationship.

The rumor has not yet been confirmed or denied by either side.

On Wednesday night, Shun Oguri openly admitted during his live radio show on "All Night Nippon" that he is currently dating Yu Yamada. News of their relationship had surfaced just one day earlier.

While most popular young celebrities generally refrain from acknowledging their romances, Oguri proudly declared Yamada to be his "very precious girlfriend." He even mentioned that he was so excited to appear on the front page of a newspaper that he picked up ten copies.

Yamada's agency has also acknowledged that the two are seeing each other, and Yamada herself reportedly confirmed it as well. Oguri's management, on the other hand, opted not to comment.

Very noble to admit it on live radio and in front of the media. I guess it's just easier for him to come out about it rather than the media constantly speculating, which can often do a lot of harm.
