'Battle Royale' star projects stylish image

Ko Shibasaki, best known among foreign audiences for her performance as Mitsuko in the late Kinji Fukasaku's 2000 movie "Battle Royale," has been picked to promote sales by Japan's largest projector maker.

"They're easy to use and have a simple design. They're perfect for my place," Shibasaki said, referring to the EMP-TWD1, the latest model in Seiko Epson Corp.'s Dreamio series of home projectors.

EMP-TWD1 is a projector equipped with a built-in DVD player and speakers. Epson also unveiled its EMP-TW600, a high-vision projector.

"We're aiming to sell the EMP-TWD1 to families and young people who watch one DVD a week and currently have no interest in projectors and know nothing about them," Epson's President Masayoshi Shindo told reporters gathered at Epson's Shinagawa Access Stadium in Tokyo's Shinagawa-ku.

Shibasaki says she watches lots of DVDs.

"I want to watch action and horror films (on the projector)," the 24-year-old actress said. "But, the horror films can be a bit hard to watch alone, so I'd like to watch them with somebody else."

Shibasaki will appear in Epson's ads for the projectors, which will screen across Japan from Oct. 6. Epson's EMP-TWD1 will go on sale from Sept. 15, while the EMP-TW600 will be released in early November. (Mainichi)

i have just discovered Kou Shibasaki in Orange Days, and boy, can she act. Kou was awesome! i loved that cool, edgy vibe she gives off. when she's furious, her eyes are electrifying! :twisted:

it's funny, because i heard the song katachi aru mono, i searched for it online to download it awhile ago. but i never knew that the singer of that song is none other than the lead actress of Orange DayS! :bonk:

anyway, found some interesting ads of Kou. she's so hot, sexy and charismatic. love the pocky ads especially, lol.

yeah, she acted very well in OD's, and also check out Good Luck, she was in that one too. I discovered Kou about a few months ago, when i first saw her in GL, and then in OD's. thanks for the Kou videos... :victory:

i'm downloading Good Luck right now, heard good things about this jodrama too. oh, u must try to watch A Million Stars Falling from the Sky next if u want to see how versatile Kou's acting talent is. i heard she acts completely opposite of her OD character here. :naughty:

i've seen the movie Cry out Love in the Center of the World, and honestly, was a bit disappointed as there was so little of Kou in the movie. However, Kou had never looked lovelier. :mrgreen: she looks a lot like a young audrey hepburn with her lithe figure and doe-like eyes. Kou's a real beauty.

i dont read japanese as well so what i usually do is look at the status bar for each link coz usually even though the text link is in japanese, the actual url is english...
