My rip is a bit distorted in the first few seconds. But for those who can't wait for Asuka's rip, you can watch this first. :victory:

Glad you liked the clip Jadrien! That is one of my favorites too. hyde is just so sweet when he met Megumi...so shy...irresistable  We must thank arc in the sky for providing us with such a wonderful clip with subtitles!

Pusuma? Eh?

You have not seen pusuma show? I will try to upload it later (having trouble with my ISP so can't access yousendit site right now). You're going to love that one!

Thanks everyone for saying I look nice in kimono, I remember at the time, thinking I was going to melt into the floor because it was already so hot and I had on a million layers, but... at least it turned out okay ;).

I've never worn a full kimono before. How long does it take to put everything on?

Hi kirei_lanford! Nice to meet you!

Thanks pochi (and Asuka Tsuzuki in advance) for the file! *sigh*, I can't access yousendit site right now though (been over a day now!). Hopefully, my ISP will fix the problem soon...when I called, they said they are *working* on it :bleh:

I know that some Laruku fans just download albums after albums, concerts and etc without buying any official products, even if they have the ability to do so. They claim they love laruku very much, but it just made me feel worse when they call themselves "Laruku fans" 'cause they didn't even bother to fork out a single penny to reward the musician's effort~ I guess its only right(and legal) to support their music by buying their original products if you sincerely like their work, ne?

It's difficult to say something like that. I come from Spain and here only there are two or three shops that send something of J-rock and don't have much stuff. I might buy dvds of L'Arc for pages as Yesasia, but this is expensive sometimes. I hope for these christmas to buy some thing of them, or probably in my birthday. I think that if we don't have anything original of the group you are a fan as the persons who yes can buy. Only you must enjoy with his music ;)

In my case like some other ppl's in this forum, not so many folks in my country know about laruku, even j-rock. The rarity of j-related goods here is close to nothing. U go to a music store and ask the shopkeeper 4 new releases, and he goes  In good stores they'd put you in a list of request while they purchase or import the item. It might take months and definitely cost u a fortune. Sometimes the long waiting ends up hopeless.

well yep, really hard to find people who knows about laruku. everytime i ask some of my friends "u know L'Arc en Ciel?" they would be like "L'Ac en what??" so is there myidol shop in surabaya, ryuusei? i think it's the best place to buy CJK music, they have all that you need. even if they don't, they will get it for you ASAP. i bought all my laruku CDs there :naughty:

I had that same reaction when I went to Japan. I was so excited when I'd meet someone my age and would ask them if they knew/liked Laruku, and every time it would take them a while to figure out who I was talking about. They all like Mr. Children and Orange Range apparently :grumble: (The only person I met who liked Laruku as much as I did was a 38 year old woman, which is fine, just surprising). But this is a fairly popular thread here (I mean, we are nearing page 400 here), so I'm starting to wonder if Laruku is more popular with American J-rock fans than Japanese people in general! What do you think? Because the reason why I like Laruku's music is because it's so different and diverse, and the reason why I'm not crazy over bands like Mr. Children (bear in mind- I've only listened to a few of their songs) is because they sound more American style. So the Japanese teens like American style sounding music and we like Japanese style sounding music? I don't know, I'm rambling (this all stems from my being disappointed in the number of Laruku fans in Japan, maybe I just went to the wrong city or something...)

Hi, I'm one of new comer here from Japan.
may I ask how old you are?? no,no, I never won't ask.... :bonk:
Yes, Orange Range is very popular right now for teenager or around 20( it's like the fashion of the times :usuck: ).
But, Mr.Children is.....any ages O.K.

I just surprise that you thought about Mr.Children
what? They play American sound?
Here in Japan. We think Mr.Children & Orange Range play Completely J-sound.
L'Arc-en-Ciel do not J-sound....something like foreign countries, somewhere....I don't know.
Or they do COMPLETELY ORIGINAL themselves.

I think more simple reason.
Almost of us dislike heavy sounds, also love pops or soft sounds.
Mr.Children & Orange Range never play hard rock or something kind of heavy sounds. & Never looks like gothic.
But L'Arc sometimes do that. so some people afraid them, or maybe this image make by sakura's scandal, either.

Also hyde...his voice...we never heard that kind of.
So almost of Japanese feel strenge first, includ L'Arc fan.
When I heard hyde's voice at first time. I thought "what a strenge & too delicate voice! I hate it, I won't never listen again." :metaldevil:
Also all of my friends who loves them said "I was the same, either. but when I used listen, I fall in love with them"
His voice took a time to fall in love with them.

But in fact, their live tours are always sold out. They sell CD a lot. :applaud: And I know many teenager's fan of them.
& do not surprise with 38 years old woman. I know L'Arc a lot of fan who already over 40 or 50 have got children ( are around 20 yeard old!! also children are their fan,too )

err...sorry my poor poor english :shamefulcry:

even some japanese don't know laruku??  i thought they're really popular there because they could broke into other countries very well. Laruku has so many fans here in my country (although it's still hard to find people who likes Laruku outside the internet :hehe: ). about the 38-years-old Laruku's fan.. oh that IS surprising! she rocks, that woman :metaldevil: because, u know, whenever it comes to Laruku's music, most adult would be like "is that even a music? it's so noisy! are they singing or just screaming around?" hey but that's one of our reasons why we love them, right? because they're noisy! and (some) adults would never understand that :naughty:
well i think that makes sense.. i mean when a person lives in a country, he will be surrounded by things he used to see or hear. with the culture, the language and everything.. and sometimes people would be bored of what they used to find, so they start searching for something new.. things that they don't use or do everyday, u know what i mean? i myself like Laruku because, as you said, they're different. they have their own style, even their own rock style. i don't see much like them in indonesia. and the other reason but not major, is because they sing in japanese. i mean i don't speak japanese in my everyday life, so i find it very exciting when i hear songs in other language that i normally don't use. my feelings even come out better if i sing or hear songs that are not indonesian.. so i mostly will search songs in japanese, chinese, korean or english. those languages fill in my CD racks and there are only like a couple of indonesian-song CD.. sounds kinda funny, i guess? not that i don't like my own language, but.. i guess i just love something new :naughty:
7 Oct 2005, 02:51 #3751
by the way, what city in Japan did you come to? i mean if the city you came to was like Nara.. i guess the people there wouldn't have that much interest in L'Arc. i guess.

hi, monchhichi!

so you think L'Arc's music isn't J-sound? well i already said in my previous reply that they sound different, so if you say they don't do J-sound, i think they sound so because they are COMPLETELY ORIGINAL, just like what you said. i think that's what i really meant when i said they have their own rock style :metaldevil:

about Hyde's voice.. oh wow.. my own opinion, when i first heard his voice, i really thought he has an incredible, powerful voice! :metaldevil: i even think that his voice is just everything that a rock band needs for a vocalist. not just powerful but Hyde could reach those high tones that most men's voice can't (heard this from some band vocalists in my country. they who plays L'Arc's songs can only sing several songs because the vocalist can't reach the tone. one of them said that the highest note he could reach was 'HONEY' ) BUT.. it was the song that i need to get used to. the very first time i heard laruku's song, i forgot which one though, i thought the song was kinda weird.. but the vocalist's voice was beautiful! and then the second song i heard long after the first was 'hitomi no junin'.. that time i thought "wow this song is so beautiful!" so the next day i just hit the CD store and buy their 'smile' album. i fell in love with them since :naughty:
so we have different thoughts here, huh? still Laruku's fan though.. i just find it interesting :victory:

I get what you mean ;) Its ever so refreshing to listen to something that you don't often hear off the radio or shopping malls  Now that you mention it, thou I speak both Chinese and English (more of chinese actually), my Japanese song list is the most extensive among all~ (^ ^")

I think its a common trend that most people (of this generation) are less accomodating when it comes to harder sounding music or music that is not in their language. Most of my friends don't like Japanese music for these 2 reasons, they find me weird! (T- T) doushite~~ fuuu

I'm quite surprise that Japanese are not immediately attracted to Hyde's voice like people of other countries do! Well, for one, I fell instantly in love with Hyde's voice when I first listened to Pieces :smitten:

*nod nod* Hyde has one of the most beautiful voice around :smitten:

I heard J-Rock was defined as a mix of asian special refinement to American rock. It was mentioned that JRock music are somehow refined to be softer, more melodious but injecting rythmic beats to suit the Japan market. I don't know how true this definition is, but it seems like the case IMO :woot: Whenever my mp3 player jumps from an english rock to jrock songs, its just quite different. J-Rock is LOVE!

i totally agree with you! you know what? i am a vocalist of a band myself, but my band play songs like evanescence's or avril's. i want to sing some other song sometimes so i recommended them songs by ayumi hamasaki or F.I.R but they said "no we don't think so. we don't understand what the song's all about" :banghead: they just don't listen to what they don't understand  although i understand chinese pretty well, i don't really understand japanese but i still enjoy japanese music! so who's weird, my band mates or me? hahahaha... after all, i think, music is not really about what language is used. i even think just melody alone is a language :metaldevil:

about Hyde's voice.. totally agree with you too :naughty: :applaud: i admire his voice, admire it! :dancing: :applaud: :metaldevil:

Me too! The first songs I heard from him were normal, fast rock songs and so his voice was pretty normal (still great of course). Then when I heard songs like Anemone and Niji, I was rather surprised, but the more I listened to them, the more I liked them (and I saw how his voice complimented the songs). And when I heard Hitomi no Juunin, I couldn't help but fall in love with Haido's falsettos. Now, every performance I always think he has an amazing voice. And he is definitely does the best lives- all of his Countdown lives have been so perfect (and even while playing the guitar! SUUUUUGOOOOIIIIII!).[/quote]

those FALSETTOS!! that's what i'm talking about! :dancing: my jaws were dropped when i first heard he sang "yuki no you ni sora ni SAKU".. i mean, wow.. he can reach THAT?? that's amazing! i got addicted to that part, want to hear that falsetto over and over again. he does that with no problem at all, didn't lose the power of his voice also :metaldevil:
