For a while there, she wasn't a Japanese TV star. She was THE Japanese TV star.

I had the good fortune to see Takako in person at the premiere of "20th Century Boys" 8/15/2009 in San Francisco at the "New People Building". :-)

She also autographed my T-shirt (I am the one in the middle) :cheers:

Takako Tokiwa, Keishi Nagatsuka to tie the knot

Actress Takako Tokiwa (37) and actor Keishi Nagatsuka (34) are soon getting married, it was learned on Tuesday. The two have been dating since 2003, when they both appeared in the movie "Get Up!," directed by Kazuyuki Izutsu.

The turning point in their relationship is said to have come last autumn. Tokiwa began filming for the long taiga drama "Tenchijin," while Nagatsuka went to London to train in theater. Aside from acting, Nagatsuka is also a playwright and stage director, and he is considered to be one of the top stars in Japan's next generation of theater.

The two were mostly separated for about a year, though Tokiwa managed to find time in her busy schedule to visit Nagatsuka in London a few times. During that year, the two realized that they were the right match for each other, so when Nagatsuka briefly returned to Japan, they began making arrangements for their marriage, formally meeting with each other's family and notifying their agencies.

Awwww man if I knew she was here in SF, I would of gone there to see her , she's one of my favorite actresses. :banghead: She the one who got me hooked on japanese dramas, the first drama I've ever seen was Refrain. Surpur your so lucky to get her autograph. I'm so jealous of you right now. :grumble:

Takako Tokiwa to star in TBS 2019 Winter drama

Takako Tokiwa will star in the TBS 2019 Winter drama "The Good Wife." The drama is a remake of the U.S. series of the same name. Also appearing in the drama are Kotaro Koizumi, Kiko Mizuhara, Takumi Kitamura, Kenichi Takito, Chikako Kaku, and Kotaro Yoshida.

Tokiwa will play the character Kyoko Hasumi. She has been a regular wife for many years, but after her husband is arrested, she goes to work as an attorney.

The drama begins in January 2019.
