That sucks. See, that's the one advantage I see in being in charge of a department... I can make sure I have vacation when I want it :P

Product managers... never have to deal with those. Then again, I'm holding the dungeons, so they don't venture down there. They are scared. They might be attacked by Tux and technobabbling minions.

Well, maybe tomorrow I can get the stupid management to follow our advice... for once.

We don't even have those here: it might force the boss to give us raises.

We don't have those either. Even if we would have, my department would be too invisible, too shady...

I'm feeling overwhelmed with all the work I have to do for my classes. :ohcrap:

And the coming Christmas break isn't making things any easier. Man!

Better to have one than none at all. :)

I know I'm gonna sound bizarre, but I almost wish I had just one week off and not two. There are so many things I have left to teach the kids about A Midsummer Night's Dream, and i feel I'm doing an injustice to the play by ending the unit sooner.

That's admirable, but I bet your kids would have the extra week off every time... even with YOU as their teacher :glomp:

So, we have a tier1 call center in Argentina and I got a call from one of those reps today. I asked her, "How's Eva Peron?" , , , , , SILENCE. [/list:u] Boy, some people have NO sense of humor.

Could be worse. This is the first Christmas/New Years I haven't had to work since 2003.

Conversely, I can't think of the last Christmas/New Year's that I did have to work. :beaten: :victory:

I'll offer a quick precis: man made an ass of himself (both figuratively and literally), and woman fells for the wrong kind/species. :hehe:

It's true, and I know when I'm enjoying the 2 weeks off I care how thorough I taught the play... but still.

I really hope it's a snow day tomorrow. :fingerscrossed:

No school?

I hope so.

It must have snowed about 2 feet over the course of the day, but it's stopped now. If it snows heavily again over night then they'll cancel buses and/or close the school. I'm really hoping for the latter... but I don't think it'll happen. :pout:

LOL, it's like being a kid again: hoping you'll get snowed in so that school is closed. ;)

I got an email from one of our branch managers saying that one of our Japanese suppliers had published a new catalog and was sending copies to each branch. He then quoted our supplier contact, saying "He said"... only problem is, our contact's name is Mutsumi and is a she..

I emailed our branch manager back and told him this... he emailed back saying "How would you know, with all those stupid names?"

I felt like punching him, but instead emailed him back and said "They probably feel that way about YOUR name too" :P

Just tell him that it's a Japanese custom to say, "Watashi wa baka desu" when you first meet someone. [/list:u]
