I don't know if they had the Ace special up for dl or not...I got that one from Hiro san.

Ace Special is at d-addicts (don't know if there's any seeders though). The first half was sad (not in a bad way).

The last heard on that subject was about 3 weeks ago. The guy said that "Yes" they will finish subbing it. Aya was the most kawaii in Shimokita Sundays. So you don't really need the subtitles. The plot was easy to understand. Just watch beautiful Aya instead of reading the subtitles.

although i understand a little japanese i don't watch doramas to drool over chicks, man :) i'd rather see a quality story than watch something considered merely a vehicle for some star....

Attack No. 1 is Aya's best drama. Don't miss that one. The quality of MPEG-4 version isn't too good. But it's still very watchable and most enjoyable.

I'd probably take up that advice and watch that one at some point....

Yeah, but the story is so simple all you need to know is what they are talking about. You miss the little things maybe, but you still get the story.

A difficult drama for non-Japanese speakers would be something like an unsubtitled "Ame to Yume no Ato ni". But that one blew dog anyway.

i agree, even though having hot chicks makes it better lol
i tried watching some without subs, like naruto etc and its so groovy when i can understand bits, but then when they start having proper conversations i just get over my head and understand the odd but here and there lol

i like doramas (and anime) for their uniquely Japanese substance....if i couldn't understand them due to my language deficiency i would not nearly be quite as captivated.

Now I know why you think Chii-chan is more kawaii than both Aya and Sayumi put together. :beaten:

i find it easier to understand dramas such as attention please than say an anime in japanese. its probably cos the animes i watch involve lots of shouting and stuff!

yeah because AP is more comedy than anything else, so the vocabulary isn't as difficult as watching something with more serious scenes such as dramatic show or an anime with particular or technical language involved in a fighting scene. (i..e sci fi anime or what not...)

yeah, plus they tend to talk more clearly, with some anime, what with all the fighting and fast dialogue it can be hard to pick out what they are saying so quickly.
but generally japanese films/tv series i find it easier to understand whats being said than anime series or films.
not that i cna pick up that much yet haha....its not like i could watch them without subtitles!

good point! there isn't that slurring of words or deconstruction of grammar using slang....

thats good to hear :D so i'm not alone!
i do get so chuffed when i understand stuff, or i see some script and i understand it, i'm like "bring it ON!"

and then they go and speak a load i can't understand and destroy my pride under their heels.

no need to worry, neither of us are alone...i'd venture to say most ppl here don't have the requisite fluency to watch such shows without subs..
