has anyone seen the Uety video that is the SP special thing where aya and her co-star are in some kinda game show? I just watched it and it was pretty hilarious. I couldn't really figure it out but it seems like you're supposed to find 100 yen items and aya's co-star dude kept picking up the expensive stuff. I'm not sure but it looks like if they're not 100 yen, you gotta pay up the full price with REAL MONEY?? cause the guy actually pulled out his wallet and didnt have enough money and i think he borrowed money from aya (or break change?)... unless im misreading this show? some of that stuff is like $1500 key chains!

btw, aya looks so great in this show. I havent seen her look so good for a while =)

Yes, what you guess is correct. And the guy has even borrowed money from aya and from a producer (not break change). Maybe you know who that guy is. He's Koizumi Koutarou, son of the former Japan prime minster Koizumi Juntarou. That may be the reason for he doesn't know what cheap things are.

In contrast, aya does have a really good sense in pricing, particularly on cheap things coz she always visits 100 yen shops. :hehe: :hehe: Do you remember what the first thing she picked up? Yes, a door mat. She said that her home gets exactly the same stuff, though the color is different. That's why she's quite sure it costs only 100yen.

I somehow have the feeling that the Ri Kouran ratings wonLt be very good. They wonLt get as high as the AP ratings for sure.
Hope weLll see the AP RAW soon. :fingerscrossed:

Yes, I know what you mean. I understand that. But aya has done many big challenges in this drama, I really HOPE the rating will be better (of course, it's just my personal wish  ). And as a Chinese, I'm more interested in watching how aya acts such a legendary star.

Bad ratings doesnLt mean bad show.
But I think more viewers like to switch on for something funny and entertaining than "serious drama" like Tsubasa, Ri Kouran etc. So the ratings often donLt get as high as AP for example.
But ILm looking forward to see her in Ri Kouran. Totally different role for her and she can show her acting talents there :)

True that. Im Also looking forward to Ri Kouran. Aya is a great actress in my opinion. I love it when she takes on challenges like this. Overall a great all around actress. Super Idol as you may call it.

So true. That's why I said I understand what you mean.

btw, I've made a typing mistake. Name of the former Japanese prime minister is Koizumi Junichiro, but not Juntarou. Sorry. :beaten:

Fully agree with you on this one... especially shimokita sundays... Being involved in video productions, I feel that the way shimokita was brought across was with strong taste and ueto aya's effort was clearly seen as she worked hard to express the director's vision and idea..

Many of my friends found the drama boring, but after I analysed the drama with them and pointed out the qualities of the drama, they started to understand y it was filmed in that manner. Some of these filming styles are rather unfamiliar to viewers in my country Singapore as our dramas have a totally different touch to it.

Gotta agree with you here.

My opinion? I think Aya has the potential to be a really good dramatic actress - from what I saw in 'Koto', 'Kinpachi Sensei' and elsewhere, so I'd really like to see her do more serious dramas - not completely switch from the lighter comedy roles, of course, but to push her boundaries more. Garner herself more credit as a serious actress than she maybe gets.

Musically, I like the picture on her new single - seems to imply she's going back to her 'rock chick' roots! Yay!! :dancing: :victory: :woot: A new album and tour is about due ...... :fingerscrossed:

Btw, anyone find anything more on that film she was supposed to be doing with Donny Kuo, the Korean actor? I couldn't find any other reference to the project.

And here's Kinpachi Sensei series 6 episode 20 :

I agree. Aya was excellent in Shimokita. And the other cast as well. Actually maybe I liked her Shimokita character even a little better than AP. She was even more funny and the role was somewhat written for Aya. Best proof for that is the Nattou scene :hehe:
The idea behind Shimokita was good and funny. But it had some problems and could never develop as it should have. The last 2-3 episodes were good, though. The rest a bit boring and not as funny and original that it should have been.
Nevertheless I think Shimokita wasnLt that bad as many say. Actually, after finishing it, I liked it better.

i think aya is a superb actress and what i love is the fact that she is willing to try many different type of roles and not just type cast herself in one role
