Everyone's moved to Torrance, that's why. Lots of Japanese businesses and shopping areas there.

Yea I noticed that when I watch the commercials inbetween j-programming and most of the stuff was in torrance... Maybe I should move down there, it sure would be a lot cooler down there. :hehe:

Hmm, there's always been a large Japanese presence here since Gardena is nearby and the big three's (Toyota, Honda, Nissan) headquarters are all here...

Don't write off Little Tokyo: It's still the center for Japanese culture with the Japanese Cultural Center and the newly-built Japanese-American History Museum... :D

Yea I haven't been to LA in quite a while. Hec, I don't think I ever visited LA's Japantown. People just told me they had one and given that LA is a pretty busy city, I figured you guys would probably have more stuff there than we do here in SF :D

Take it from a Nihonjin with family in both LA and SF, the SF Nihonmachi is WAAAAAY better.

Little Tokyo is comparitively run down. :grumble:

The Nihonjin community is scattered across LA... yep, some in Torrance.
