As for music and doramas:
manga and anime became somewhat popular in Germany over the past years. But nobody watches dorama or hears j-music. At least no j-pop. There are several visual, J-rock fans but I think you can count all Jpop or dorama fans by one or two hands.
Hopefully jinzoaya asked ! I'm always interested in these kind of photos !
Same case in France, manga and anime only. I must precise that's a rare domain in which the japanese are not in competition with western companies. It's just because kids are bored of the simple stories, western anime they watch on tv. Basically it looks like walt disney, or like pingu the little penguin etc. Or else american cartoons with bugs bunny etc. There are no western anime for children around 10 years old and more. Only for the very little kids up to 6 years old. There was a place for the manga and anime market.
Yup teenagers, who looooooove asking lots of questions in all directions, are like stuck to their mangas. Though there are good novels to read, really, outside harry potter, these novels are also read by adults. Manga is written /drawn for teenagers. Yes, for now, only the mangas for teens have reached Europe. There are some realistic mangas for adults here and there, but it's rare. When people will be familiar to mangas here, they'll probably look forward to more serious mangas but we haven't reached that state. Also western comics are different, either american comics but mainly, in Europe, A4 size books drawn in color (cool !) but few pages (poor scenario), and expensive. Compared to manga, cheap, dynamic drawings, complex scenarios, obviously some people bought mangas.
That is just justice. The zodiac knights, I grew up with. Goldorak too. Dragon Ball of course. And obviously all other animes on tv were nothing compared to these. Not my fault.
