Folks, I was lucky enough to be able to watch Aya's new drama, Zettai Reido, a few hours ago. (I live in Japan.)
I am happy to report that Aya played her role very well. Her youthful exuberance shows at first, then her enthusiasm and passion for finding the truth, and finally her ability to deeply feel and understand the sorrow of others. In this program, we can see Aya's character, Sakuragi-san, maturing before our eyes as she experiences the challenge of solving a 'cold case.'
I am normally quite critical of Japanese dramas because they are often superficial vehicles for the promotion of their stars but this first program showed a good range of supporting characters and a believable plot.
Although dressed in quite ordinary clothes, Aya's beauty shines through and she looks wonderful in many sequences.
Congratulations to Aya on a job well done, and I hope the drama is made available to viewers overseas soon.

Sounds good! Thanks for the info Weevil :woot:
You are so slucky you can watch all that stuff life in "Aya-land" haha. canLt wait to see it, too. hopefully it will be subbed and uploaded soon!
I was quite unsure how the new drama will be. The tries before, to give Aya a "non typical, old Aya-style" role, didnLt work out well. At least for me. hotelier, konkatsu, hokaben... I hope Zettai Reido will do better! :)
