hey KT ... thanks for the re-re-re-up of part1 of the "ayo date" file. this time it seems that YSI is willing to work. i got about 100-150KB/s ... ^^; :dancing: ...

oh, and thx to freefall as well, who UPed it at megaupload ... but actually this time megaupload is not willing to work for the 1st-half of part1 ... and the 2nd one is only goin with less than 6KB/s ... so DLed it from KTs YSI link ... thanks even though

about playing *.DAT files ... these are actually normal *.MPG files :hehe: ... you could also try just to rename them. the "*.DAT" is/was used as the file-extension for old VCD files .... so that might be their origin. dun worry ... very very standard mpeg1-files only :nut:

enjoy them,
genji.

Freefall wrote:Did you get the PM with the Ace bitrate and sizes etc? ItLs strange that the quality looks not any worse than the expensive japanese disks but ItLs much smaller. I donLt understand why another compression would make the quality much worse then if it looks good?

I did, thank you! I'm not sure either. Perhaps they used a different compression technique for the Attack No.1 discs, or perhaps the originals weren't as good as the Ace originals.

Freefall wrote:Is the picture quality on the Attack DVDs good? ILm still unsure what version I should get. If it looks the same again, like Ace, I think itLs a good idea to get the cheaper one :hehe:

The picture is fine for 20 pounds, but it isn't so good when you start trying to encode subtitled XviDs :banghead:
If you were happy with the Ace discs, then you should be happy with the Attack discs though.

I'm still looking for any kind soul with the Japanese Attack No.1 DVDs!

Is this date show everyone is watching this one?:

Theroretically ILd say the newer the movie /dorama the better the picture quality shoud be. Some of the old one are from VHS times but nowadays, with DVDs and HDTV, ILd expect them to be better looking ;)
Hmm, I wouldnLt have to compress the DVDs again, ILll just make some caps. And if the picture isnLt much worse than the japanese box I think I rather save $160 :hehe:
Could you perhaps post one or two smaple caps from Attack? Unfortunately it seems taht no one has the expensive Japanese version at the time =T

It could be it....but how come the file size is smaller then the ones i have???

One is a avi, the other ones mgegs. If itLs the same show itLs probably just the other format causing the size difference.

Yep, MPEG4 streams like xvid/divx has stronger compresion than MPEG1 used in VideoCDs.

Hello thewizzard, here is my method for dealing with flash sites. Use IE to open site and load all the pages you need, then from DOS or Command Prompt enter in IE's cache folder and copy all flash files (*.swf) from all sub folders, then open them one by one and pick the ones you need. The only problem is that some SWF are protected or locked in some way and don't want to open, for example this method never worked for Aya's Yahoo BB flash site :shamefulcry: This method is quite raw, there may be programs out in the net that capture flash, like this one:
http://flashcapture.zbsoft.net/
(quick google search, never used it)

Hey KT, haven't you departure yet, have a safe trip and wonderful time in Vietnam!

The $25 oder the expensive one? If you just want to watch it I think you wonLt do anything wrong with the cheaper one.
I have the feeling that youLre in the forum till the last minute before leaving. :hehe: :victory: Have a nice trip! :woot:
