J-Horror Theater: Update on Kiyoshi Kurosawa's RETRIBUTION - a.k.a. "Shriek" and "Sakebi" - starring Kôji Yakusho, Manami Konishi, Tsuyoshi Ihara, Hiroyuki Hirayama, Joe Odagiri, and Ryô Kase
(Posted In Asia Film News Horror Random Festival News )
Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Retribution (current English working title) - a.k.a. "Shriek" (former English working title) and "Sakebi" (romanized Japanese working title) - is now scheduled to première at the 63rd Venice Film Festival (VFF) in late August/early September. (Note: "Sakebi" corresponds to "Shriek"; I suspect that the movie's Japanese release title will correspond to "Retribution".) The movie is also scheduled to be screened at the 39th Sitges - International Film Festival of Catalonia in October. It's the fourth movie in the J-Horror Theater hexalogy.

Manami and Odagiri Joe hmmm, could be interesting, they worked together in Tentai Kanzoku[/list:u]

[image] Manami's latest movie UDON came out August 26th, from the little bits I've seen on YouTube, can't tell if it's a comedy or a drama, probably a little of both. Now comes the hard part, finding a version with english subtitles :puppydog: [/list:u]
