Woah! Seems like every Joe fan is having problem with Zhang Ziyi! Even those from TVBT! Can't stand her too...nearly screamed when i first knew she was acting with him!

I dunno there's something about her that I don't like..WTF is he doing? kissing her? How was "House of Flying Daggers" anyway (besides the fact that Zhang Zi Yi sucks)? I think they're gonna start showing it in theaters around here soon and I was thinking about checking it out.

The House of Flying Daggers was not boring at all. Which part do you want to know? I can make a review on that film actually.

Hm, Plot wise, originally Zhang Zi Yi was not meant to have the major role in that film she's supposed to be supporting actress. The lead role was meant for the leader of the House of Flying Dagger which was originally casted for Anita Mui. However, Anita Mui died of cervical cancer during filming (though she's been advised to discontinue the filming), so the director decided to change the script. Still, he did not want to replace Mui's role with any other actress thus at the end Mui's character does not really appeared. The character appeared once with Veil and Hat and..did not say much. The focus of the story is mainly depicting about love, betrayal and a question of loyalty.

I know why only that? it's a simple plot but it was made quite ridiculous nonetheless you will be amazed with the cinematography and Kaneshiro's acting there which had received many good praises from the critics. There were martial arts beautifully choreographed, not to mention the costumes of the actors and actresses. I don't think Hollywood could make a movie as beautiful as that one.

I don't like Zhang Zi Yi, still if the movie is worth watching I'd just give it a try. It's like Ayumi Hamasaki, I don't like her voice, however if the song is quite ok, I'm willing to give it a chance. Just being very objective here.

yeh exactly! like ive stated on my blog before, i dont rely on what other people's opinions and i do like to give this a try and judge it myself.. i was just asking bout the plot, thanks for the info aka.. u sure know ur sources :mrgreen:

I just happened to catch the last ep of Shinsengumi on cable. It was soooooo sad! But Joe was kakkoii!

Oh yes, that last episode..It was really sad and touching. Shingo has made the GONG! of the end..and I was so amazed.

Saitou Hajime (Odagiri Joe) well, he did not die at the end, instead he lived until at the age of 72 and worked as a police officer after Meiji Restoration.
Indeed, Odagiri made the last drawn of his sword so elegant! It just left a good impression in my head at least..hehehe.. :beaten:

I din't watched the last episode of Shinsengumi yet (I didn't want to wake up early on Sunday to watch that ... I'm so lazy... :beaten: :hehe: :hehe: :hehe:). I'll watch that on Saturday.

I dunno all of them..*cough* ok, I can say something about those that I know from the ending that I saw last week.

Hijikata continued to lead the last ppl in Shinsengumi to rebel the emperor's ruling and he died in a battle at the age of 35.

Kondo was forced to commit seppuku (at the last episode) and he was 33 at that time.

Okita Souji, died of tuberculosis at the age of 27

Oh yeah..that Geisha, Oko..who was played by Yucka, she was killed while defending Okita. There you go...

I need to watch that ep again. I didn't see the whole thing so I'm wondering what happened to Nagakura Shinpachi. That and Joe looked so kakkoii I wanna see that part again! Sugoi! :applaud:

Oops..I forgot to mention him. Nagakura did not die and he managed to live at the age of 70-ish too I guess.. Dang I forgot..hehehe.. :beaten: I like his character too btw :)

Actually on the regular TV channel, they only just aired the ep where the Tani brothers desert so I'll eventually be able to see that ep again.

That would be "Pacchigi" (ƒpƒbƒ`ƒM). It starts showing in theaters in Japan in January.
