From the I Read Everything At This 'Site And Now Wish to Contribute Dept:

Oh, yeah . . . that's right . . . I saw two films starring Tadanobu Asano AND ya'll's favorite, Odagiri Joe (w/that damn smirk on his face) on the big screen at the recent Hawai'i International Film Festival. Those films are Bright Future (http://hiff.fluxismedia.com/2004spring/movie_description.php?movie_id=2. Hhhaha. "Great haircut," hahah) and Last Life in the Universe, which is in Japanese AND Thailand languages (http://hiff.fluxismedia.com/2004spring/movie_description.php?movie_id=9). What "J-boy factor" (which I MUST'VE entirely missed as I would've mentioned me seeing these APRIL 2004 films awhile ago, obviously)? These really good sci-fi type films.

And Joe Odagiri and Tadanobu Asano WERE BOTH THERE TO PRESENT THE FILM!!!

BWWAHAHAHAHHAHA, just kidding about Joe and Tadanobu being there, bWWWWAAAAAAA, gotcha'! Seriously, though . . . I'm glad to have seen such films at a theatre setting. Thing I CAN tell ya'lls is that, geez, whenever Tadanobu would "grace" the screen in Last Life . . . I could essentially HEAR the breaking of hearts of those gals in the audience who'd never known a Tadanobu Asano until that time. BEST believe they got a new idol boy other than Orlando B., et. al.

Whatever darhllinnng...But I'm not too keen to watch "Akarui Mirai" although it also made it to Cannes Festival last year. If I'm that interested I would've bought the DVD and blabed all the way in this thread. However, the movie doesn't appeal me much, yes it was good according to the critics in a way of Kiyoshi Kurosawa weirdness of telling the story abt a boy fascination (joe odagiri) to a pet jelly fish and his owner which drawned far away as a murder story, father-son relationship etc..
As for Tadanobu Asano..he's one of the coolest actor I've known so far. Do you know that he has American descendant. Well, basically, having read on TIME magazine years ago, it said that his mother was half American. Oh well, that's from me. Hmm.yeah I'm sure Odagiri and Asano will make a great idol. I think American should be introduced more of gorgeous Japanese Actor. FYI, I think Orlando Bloom is gorgeous..:P

Eh, sorry Mixx, but I missed most of the beginning of the show so I didn't tape it or anything. Sorry 'bout that! :say_sorry:

They showed it on cable TV so maybe they'll show it again later. If not, hopefully somebody else caught it.

Oh, Joe really doesn't talk too much in "Shinsengumi". A girl in "Shinsengumi"'s thread said his acting is poor in the series... I don't think so (well, he's not worse than Shingo Katori at least ... :hehe: ), but he's quiet in the series.
Great wallpapers once again, Akakage-chan !!!! :applaud:
Well, I'll give my contributions to the thread now:

Shinsengumi showcases some of the best Odagiri Joe acting. That grin is just too highlighted, or obvious, in this vehicle, is the thing.

I think he's doing a great job in this drama from what I've seen. His character is supposed to be quiet so it's not his fault. He makes a really good psycho doesn't he?

Hey Akakage new stalker job again? :hehe:
