Memrise pits you against other users in a contest to learn a new language. Based on your performance in your lessons, you will be given points, which Memrise will attach to your profile. Memrise offers a plethora of languages, ranging from Russian to Japanese.
Upon selecting your course, Memrise will initially teach you the foreign characters of the language, if any exist. Memrise uses admittedly bizarre illustrations to form connections between the two languages. Throughout each lesson, you will be quizzed on definitions to further cement your understanding and short-term memory. Memrise also pronounces each phrase.
To establish these connections in your long-term memory, Memrise will quiz you on the previous dayfs lessons. If you answer any questions incorrectly, Memrise will take you back to the specific lesson.
