Ah, you're talkin' about Masuda Takahisa, that guy from NEWS (for those who don't know, NEWS is one of the Johnny's Entertaiment Agency bands). I have better pics of him, but be patient, I'll have to scan them... :sweat:

Well, he appeared in only a few scenes. In the most of them, as Takenobu said, he appears with the "little" Matahachi running around with wooden sticks.

I think they were filler... If NHK had stuck to the original Yoshikawa Eiji story, the wouldn't have a year's worth of shows. ;)

They had to add in the filler scenes to make it last long enough to be called a Taiga Drama. :hehe:

Haha. Well sometimes it was a little annoying it was the same scenes they kept filling in. Some variation might have been nice :).

Indeed they used the same scenes over and over again. And what got to me most was when they used half of an episode, or even a whole one as a recap of what happened previous to.
