Yui Ichikawa expresses desire for marriage

On March 1, actress Ichikawa Yui held a release event for her photo book 'YUI'.

Ichikawa, who turned 29 years old last month, confessed, "I want to get married." She also revealed the type of man she wants to marry, "I am very close with my family, so I want a man who would also take care of my family."

On becoming 30 next year, Ichikawa commented, "I'm excited for my 30s. I hope to stay in the mindset of doing more and more of what I want in both my career and private life." When asked if there is anything she wants to do while in her 20s, she responded, "I want to obtain a scuba diving license!"

The photo book marks the actress' last photo book of her 20s. For this photo book, she worked with both a female photographer and a male photographer. "The photos are of completely different tastes. It's a new type of photo book of which you can enjoy that gap," she explained.

Regarding the photos taken by the female photographer, Ichikawa smiled as she said, "I can be more open when having my photos taken by a woman. When I realize it, I'm not wearing anything."

Desire fulfilled:

Yui Ichikawa marries Shigeyuki Totsugi

Totsugi Shigeyuki and actress Ichikawa Yui have gotten married.

The couple made the announcement through their respective agencies. According to the announcement, Totsugi and Ichikawa tied the knot on September 8 after a year and two months of dating. They are already living together.

Totsugi commented, "I want to build a happy family while supporting each other," and Ichikawa similarly stated, "While cherishing the happy things that occur everyday, I want to build a warm family."

The couple met on set of the NHK / BS Premium drama 'Owakon TV'. They were friends at first, but lessened the distance and started dating with marriage in mind. According to sources, Ichikawa is not pregnant at this time. They are planning on holding a wedding ceremony and reception with their close family and friends.

Actress Yui Ichikawa announced she is pregnant with her first child. She is currently five months pregnant and is due sometime in the fall.

Through her agency, Ichikawa said, "We are overflowing with joy at gaining a new family member. I am perplexed by all the changes in my body, but when I see our beloved child growing inside of me, all the anxiety goes away."

Ichikawa will continue to work while monitoring her condition.

Yui Ichikawa gives birth to a baby boy

On September 26, Yui Ichikawa and Shigeyuki Totsugi released a joint statement that their first child has been born.

In the announcement, the couple stated, The other day a healthy and sturdy baby boy was born to us. The moment he arrived in this world, we were so moved that tears wouldn't stop flowing. We are grateful to have welcomed this day with the support of everyone."

The couple met on the set of the NHK Premium drama 'Owakon TV' back in 2014, and first started off as friends. As their friendship developed into romance, they tied the knot in September of 2015 after just one year and two months of dating. According to sources, Ichikawa will devote herself to childrearing for awhile, and will return to her activities once things settle down.
