hmm.. don't understand what NTV trying to do with their Tuesday schedule..
Kame & his drama is like attempting suicide by fighting against Fuji's Triangle. It would be interesting to see the ratings for both show.

Couldn't agree more! Plotwise, cast-wise, Triangle seems to be the better bet! :)
"Triangle".......i will watch it because of Eguchi. The rest of the cast makes me yawn.
i don't know how true is this, but i'd read from several japanese blogs that yamapi may star in a spring drama called 'kimi ni todoke' with gakki.
kimi ni todoke is currently one of the popular manga in japan.
i kind of doubt it though i really want to see yamapi in a drama (and his usual time slot is in spring)

MatsuJun's new drama for spring:
http://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20090212-00000001-dal-ent
Title: SMILE
Casts: Matsumoto Jun, Aragaki Yui, Nakai Kiichi
Genre: Human love story
Broadcast: TBS, Friday 10 PM
The drama starts in April. He will play a role of half-Filipino half-Japanese. Aragaki will play a role of an aphonic girl, she became aphonic due to an accident.
What is aphonia/aphasia? It's different with mute, right? But do they communicate with other people the same way as mute people does, with hand signs?

I looked it up, but still not really sure...
LOL. I'm hoping she communicates with MatsuClown by smacking him over the head with a baseball bat :)
And MatsuJun as a half-Filipino? Isn't that an insult to Filipinos everywhere?

EDIT: Sorry yuckie-chan for copy-pasting the translation. I hope linking is ok?

I just want to know what it has to do with the plot? So what if he's half-filipino? Ooooh, I wonder if they're going to make him tanner. :hehe:
@ADad - I think what will make it insulting is how the plot will incorporate his ethnicity in the story line.
dramawiki sucks right now.

Yeah, I wondered about that too. Otherwise, why even use it in the synopsis?
I've had problems with Dramawiki too :banghead:
tofuuuuu, I think yuckie-chan clearly warned not to copy away her translation^^
^ Sorry
I missed the disclaimer at the bottom of her post.

More than that: Matsujerk is an insult to human beings. :beaten:
Great, Matsumoto Jun AND Aragaki Yui in one drama... Just what I always wanted. :bleh:
And Nagasawa Masami's in another show too! Isn't everyone just so happy about that? :shakehead:

I think one of the most unsettling things is that apparently MatsuJun is going to be writing for that drama.
Y'know, because he knows so much about the topic :shakehead:
Being half-Filipino myself, I would be lying if I said I wasn't a bit intrigued about having a character that was mixed.
But then I remembered how really stereotypical/racist some dramas can be (like the almost pre-civil Rights "mammy" type maid featured in Hana Yori Dango, the all-black gang of random muggers that attack the female lead in the Hana Yori Dango 2 in NYC, or the general disgust felt by the kids in DragonZakura when they find out their english teacher hangs out at a "Philippine Pub").
I really don't have any idea how Filipinos are perceived by the general Japanese public- so I'll be watching for that, but I guess its a given that it must not be all sunshine since it's a source of conflict for the drama...
*wonders if it will make me as mad as "Last Friends"*
