Winter must mean brain freeze, so they take the easy route: sequels.

WD wrote:Out of the list, at least Hancho should be a good one. :) But really, winter dramas seem doomed already. I've never felt this unexcited in a long time! :( Maybe for Hidarime Tantei Eye which I'll be watching just to see how far Yokoyama Yu will stretch his evil character this time.

yeah looking forward to hidarime tantei and code blue..mabye? but yeah i think the line up is poor.... :shakehead:

Hmm, Code Blue is out of my way probably though. The first season is very poor IMO, maybe one of the worse medical dramas Japan has produced ever. There's also the poor acting from the main cast as well as weak plot. :( The drama's only saviour are the veterans. I mean, Tomorrow which aired in the same season with Takenouchi Yutaka and Kanno Miho has lower rating but it's far more interesting and beleivable. :)

Miho Kanno stars in "Magerarenai Onna"
Actress Miho Kanno (32) will star in a new drama series on NTV this winter. Titled "Magerarenai Onna," the drama is an original story by screenwriter Kazuhiko Yukawa.
Kanno plays the part of the uncompromising Saki, who lives in her own way without giving in to the rest of society. Working as a clerk in a law office, she persists in her dream of becoming a lawyer despite having failed the exam 10 times in a row.
Hiromi Nagasaku (39) has been cast as Saki's friend and high school classmate Riko. A housewife and mother of two, Riko leads a socialite lifestyle and is willing to lie to obtain whatever she wants. The contrasting personalities of Saki and Riko is one of the focuses of the series.
Nagasaku just announced last week that she is currently four months pregnant, but producer Futoshi Ohira said that there will be no change in casting. Although there are some concerns for her health, Nagasaku is enthusiastic about taking on the role.
"Magerarenai Onna" will also feature Shosuke Tanihara (37) and Takashi Tsukamoto (27). NTV has scheduled the show for Wednesday nights at 10:00pm, starting sometime in January.

Kamenashi to star in "Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge" drama
The live-action drama adaptation of Tomoko Hayakawa's manga "Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge" was confirmed on Sunday. KAT-TUN's Kazuya Kamenashi (23) will play the lead role and will be joined by Hiroki Uchi (23) and NEWS member Yuya Tegoshi (22).
The comedic story revolves a group of handsome young men who are offered free lodging if they can turn the owner's niece into a proper lady. Kamenashi plays the short-tempered Kyohei Takano, while Uchi and Tegoshi play two of his housemates. Aya Omasa (18) has been cast as the niece Sunako, a solitary girl with low self-esteem. As the men work together to change Sunako, she and Kyohei begin to form a romantic relationship.
The cast also includes ballet dancer Shuntaro Miyao (25). TBS will premiere the series on January 15, airing every Friday at 10:00pm.

Idol group AKB48 will star in a TV Tokyo drama series this winter. Titled "Majisuka Gakuen," the show was planned and written by AKB48 producer Yasushi Akimoto.
The drama will revolve around adolescent "yankees," or delinquents. Although all of AKB48's members are planned to appear on the show, the main character will be Atsuko Maeda (18), who was voted #1 by fans in the group's "senbatsu" election earlier this year. Maeda has already acted in multiple films and dramas, and was recently announced as a cast member in NHK's 2010 taiga drama "Ryomaden," playing a niece of protagonist Sakamoto Ryoma (Masaharu Fukuyama).
"Majisuka Gakuen" will air in TV Tokyo's "Drama 24" time slot (Friday nights at 12:12am). The show premieres on January 8.
