Tsutsumi Shinichi

ok, guys, I'm BACK. Let me tell u tat I've done the craziest thing tonite; bought the Ubume no Natsu novel just becoz Shin chan is printed on the cover promo wrap... My Jap is NOWHERE near ... I won't understand more than 2%, but I bought the book!

And tonite I ordered, finally, Drive & Monday from amazon. :D , thanks to u guys' recommendation

Koi Ni

I hav decided to read transcripts in the Japanese blogs & u guys' spoilers first.

*sigh* I hav said in the Koi Ni discussion thread that the story line is becoming predictable; yappari  I jus find the Italian singer's part very unconvincing; this is truly so far the weakest link :say_no:

I will come back with more comments.

& PURE; I can't take it in one go; hav to take a break; very depressing :mecry: It's not just about Shin chan, but about how society has been treating the mentally challenged...getting jus a bit too profound :bonk:

Can I skip straight from epi 6 to the last? I'm very undecided. On one hand, I wanna see the orphanage scene & the last scene *I think I can make out why u guys cry so much 4 the last epi..SOMEONE must have died* On the other, dun wanna miss too many scenes with Shin chan arrr :banghead:

no no no dun go to the last...
u MUst see the orphanage scene 1st
just chk, its in disc 7
*nod head*... Pure is a depressing show...
but Toru is such a sweet chap eh despite his cold appearance

think KoiOchi's problem doesn't only lie with its predicability.. think the storyline is getting more & more unconvincing... at least to me lah
i was rather impressed by the developments in ep2.. but since then... think it has gone downhill leh :bonk:

wah, u bought Ubume's japanese version
maybe i can help out coz read the Chinese version liao

i watched Pure till halfway and stopped at disc 5... i dislike the type of discrimination that the society has for the disabled from then till now. i just dont understand why some pple who deemed perfectly normal have to act superior just because they can do everything normal? they are actually demons and devils hidden under human skin. :grumble:

SPOILER

Unconvincing, totally  I think the most unconvincing bit is the Italian tenor in concert. Hav U guys seen his expression? :bored: completely bogus! I think he needs an acting coach too; actually Kaori isn't that HETA, compared to him!

now, nikyy, u know what I mean by getting sick of Tsuyoshi sometimes; he has about 10 different expressions, & keeps rotating them, sometimes, I think he forgets he's in prime time drama, he probably thinks he's still in those silly Smap x Smap sitcoms (No offence, Smap fans  ).

I agree w/ u, nikyy, that the Italian tenor's luv story is so awfully shallow & bogus. Isn't he too childish to behave so badly just becoz he can't marry the woman he luvs? his family says no?! For god's sake, c'mon...

I can't help but hav to say tat (this is not just becoz I am a TS obsessive)
Shin chan is the only reason tat u should spend 45 mins on epi 4. =T

Shin chan is way above everyone (except maybe Wakui) in terms of acting skills; u can see that he is so confident; delivers his lines with exactly the rite facial expressions & timing, even a single eye contact is delivered with military precision. :applaud:

Hav u guys noticed there are traces of Koda mode here? Rem the last scene when Nanami delivers that *business vs. kokoro* speech; Shin chan closes his eyes jus like what he did in GL ? when Kuroki Hitomi talks about her undying luv for Koda? :victory:

and yes, that smile in the airport is definitely Shin chan himself?! I think that's supposed to be cut already! But that smile is just so cute :rolly:

SPOILER ENDS

SPOILER CONTINUES

My stupid two cents observation:

I gather we all learn how to pronounce Suzuki Shimao perfectly; Takayanagi keeps saying the name, at least 3 to 4 times per epi :metaldevil: also in epi 5...Suzuki Shimao...

Also, sabisu  We can all pronounce this word perfectly.

Also, Island boy...

Kaori nevers wear dark colours; the other secretary never wears light colours; angel vs devil :bonk:

Takayanagi never wears a tie; he doesn't like changing his suit either... He has to look suave; that's why the costumes ppl make him wear a pocket handkerchief at all times :nut:

Kamiya almost always wears striped shirts.

What's happened to this luv affair between the black secretary & Toru? Are they just extra-curricular activities? They dun seem to have any interaction at all?!

No wonder why Mariko dumped that guy?! Can the Fuji ppl at least find sb who is younger & better looking? Is this intentional so that the story line between Mariko & Ryuta will grow from here more steadily?

So far I think the best scenes are:
1. when Mariko, Ryuta & Shimao are together. Their interaction has a lot of gd chemistry. :applaud: the ‰º’¬ atmosphere is excellent.

2. Nanami & Toru: esp the last scene in epi 4, Nanami is like Kuroki Hitomi in GL. She is the one who reads Toru's mind, able to calm him down & makes him look at himself from another perspective. She is the one who never hesitates to tell Toru how arrogant he is. Rem she says tat Toru is an island. I think the script writer tries to explain why Shimao is always emphasized as *Island boy*. The script writer is trying to draw a parallel here, not very intelligent tho.

3. the scene when he looks out of the window, YES, nikyy! :smitten:

Speculation on epi 5:

I think the one who falls in luv w/ Kaori is Toru this time? Wow, that look when he wipes all the things on his desk down to the floor.

his character is so far the most consistent, ARROGANT, ARROGANT, MERCILESS, MERCILESS, tho very *flat* ne?!

Drive & Monday :puppydog:

They are both Sabu films, Shin chan being the lead.

SPOILER
.
.
.

yes yes the Suzuki Shimao thing.. he's been saying tat in every ep

cant agree with u more, the Mariko vs Ryuta vs Shimao is by far the best (esp the hospital scene)

if its not coz Shin chan is in it, i think i probably stop watching after ep4

can't help laughing when i saw these cheesy scenes
1. Shimao holding Kaori hands, racing thru the hotel lobby in slow motion
2. the Italian singer sings in the sky garden of the building where both Kaori & Shimao listens attentively, esp Shimao's expression

the ending scene, where Nanami talks to Toru ..
She's said Shimao treasures pple (kokoro), therefore he's successful in this deal, no?
This is wat i find unconvincing abt ep4... Shimao's success in this episode is pure luck, Nanami maybe right if she said this in ep3, but to me, Shimao in ep4 only acted on impulse & nothing else...

hehe, not only has the scriptwriter forgotten abt Toru & black tower's relationship,
they seem to hve forgotten Shimao's programming skill too

think Shin chan's part in this drama is too little leh...
to think tat his name is only after Tsuyoshi
*sigh* looks like Matsushita hve more lines than him :beatyou::mrgreen:

END SPOILER

hey guys, i am back with a piece of good news!

i managed to get back my DVDs but i have to pay for Goods & Services Tax(GST). thanks for all ur consoles and patience for listening to my grumbles :woot:

YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST! :good:

Below is the information regarding the quantity of DVDs to be brought in:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
when i went to the customs, the officer was polite enough. she told me that my parcel was detained because
1) they checked my invoice and found that my purchase was above SGD400 which means that i am liable for GST.
2) Also, they are afraid that i may carry pornography in the parcel.
3) she advised me to get 4 or less disc next time, cos once you bought 5 or more, it could be retained.

i guess the idea is Get 4 OR LESS AND SPEND LESS THAN SGD400 if you want to save the trouble of going to the customs to collect it. :naughty:

i watched episode 4 and i agree with you all that caucasian is poor at acting. he looks like a piece of white, blank paper; expressionless. did he call to speak to the woman that he loves? he is literally talking to a phone, not to a person at all!

as for kusanagi, i think tsutsumi will be in a better position to replace as suzuki shimao cos it seems that takayanagi's role suits kusanagi more, not requiring much expression except giving a cold feeling.

and the guy who is from mariko's office is  U G L Y

my favourtie scene is when tsutsumi turns his head to the side... sugoi!

why cant tsutsumi have the koda's hairstyle???? he will look like a cool boss then! but he doesnt have that stern look unlike GL.

(just my 2 cents of view) when nanami talked to him and he closed his eyes, i personally feel that he doesnt really resembles much kouda in GL. in fact, he seems more relaxed in this drama as compared to GL.

lastly, i find this episode very boring. i struggled to finish it for the sake of tsutsumi in the show. :bored:

nikky wrote:
p/s dunno anyone notice this, there's this scene where Takayanagi is shaking hand with the Italian singer, b4 both of them enter the limousine, Shin chan's smiles quite widely, quite unTakayanagi like, is this supposed to be an NG scene ah

i saw the scene! its really shin-chan's cheeky smile on TV... i suppose its being edited due to NG cos if you realise, the playing of this episode wasnt smooth at the airport part. i wonder if its due to the crowd on the airport that makes him laugh uncontrollably.

if that's the case, cant imagine how hard he'll laugh if we all were to go japan to watch his play and crowd around him like this! :nut:

Arh!! Miss u guys so much! Jus finished watching ep4 and finally can read all the spoilers!!

SPOILER FOR KOI NI
After watching ep4~ i (too) think this is CHEESY, CHEESSY, SO CHEESSY & NOTHING ELSE except Takayanagi!! OMG.... this is really the worst of the 4 episode!! Especially how they try to humour the italian singer  and how shimao "accidentally" saved the concert thing again :blahblah: How everything will be OKAY with Shimao around :bleh: its sooo wrong!

Its a miracle Takayanagi didn't sack Shimao rite away after he left the meeting halfway! I believe this would look more convincing... and for god's sake~ Shimao is a PROGRAMMING GENIUS and NOT SOME PR!!!! *argh* And the Kaori-Shimao look-at-each-other-and-smile thingy is NOT WORKING!! Its even sort of LAME~ :banghead: Next episode still got sakura! *faints* its so cheesy i'm seriously thinking if the scriptwriter a female?!

BUT LUCKILY~ shin chan, mariko and even ryuta saved the day! :victory:
Favourite scene:
1) Takayanagi looks out the window at nite (i really swooned over and over and suffered a major heart attack :bonk: )
2) The hospital scene
3) Those scene when Shimao bought back food
4) Takayanagi in -business mode- on the phone then goes back to -reality mode- slamming the phone then enters nanami
5) Nanami conversation with Takayanagi

Overall... ep 4 is so forgettable... the gaigin can't act! oh yah von.. that guy frm the office is U G L Y and O L D~ :usuck: Maybe the slow-mo run of shimao and kaori that almost made me fall off the chair... that i might remember... :hehe:

This show has left out too many minor explanations (black tower~ *looks at nikyy*) and gave it all to Shimao-Kaori love story~  I really hope ep5 will get better!! :shakehead: Else thats the end of this show man~ :banghead:

SPOILER END

CONGRATS VON! Luckily nothing happened to your DVDs!! :applaud: :applaud: *throws conffetti*

Ooo~ i think i'll go watch PURE now... :crazy2:

kusanagi as an arrogant hearless powerful charming takayanagi???? :headscratch: It'll be quite a challange, no? His face is jus so ii hito

i simply luv tat window scene... but he looks so sad.. poor thing :patpat:

yup, no 4 is good... tat contrast tat was brought out using the tone of his voice.. spoke light heartedly over the phone when in actual fact he's boiling inside

rem the part where he was scolding Shimao after the hotel incident..
at 1st he's still smiling but as he talks his expression gets more severe & alas, he shows the angry expression (using his eyes)...

u know wat... i like the scene where he's sitting on the desk talking to Nanami where his back is facing the camera... even tho dun see his face... but its just so errrrrrrr captivating :nut:

What can we say!!! Shin-chan's every movement, every look of the eye never go wasted!

Looks like Takayangi is always hiding his feelings behind a mask... maybe he is quite bothered about the fact that Shimao can always follow his heart.... POOR THING... :puppydog: I'm so curious wat can actually make him soooo angry in ep5~ KITAI!!! :fingerscrossed:
