last time I saw, Mr. Children's "Sign" was tiop in the charts and Hirai Ken I think was #3 behind "ORANGE RANGE" THEY SUCK...I hate their new single "locomotion".... it's horrible....

Hirai Ken's best songs = "Love Or lust" and i love the music video for it.."Rakuen" and "Aoi Tori"

minna, i'm very glad to find hirai ken's thread in this forum! Hirai ken is my ICHIBAN! really like his voice and songs. I already have un-balanced, gaining through losing, ken's bar, life is, sentimentaLovers, and i LOVE them all. In some album that I heard, Hirai Ken sbows different approach in his song/voice, like in ken's bar, it's really nice to hear Hirai Ken's soothing and warmy swinging voice while in sentimentaLovers, there's kimi wa tomodachi, which is very unique!

For songs, I really like sekai de ichiban, kimi wa tomodachi, life is, seisshun days, strawberry sex, ring, nostalgia, sentimental, gaining through losing, kiss of life, and many others (it seems that I can have my own "AllFavourite Hirai Ken's" album XP)

btw, I'm really curious with hirai ken Unplugged dvd, cause it seems very good. Unfortunately it very expensive in yesAsia, can someone write a little thing about this dvd? is it good? 'cause I have to make sure that it is good before I'm (thinking about to..).. buy it (LOL, it's very expensive though...)

Wow I haven't visited this forum I made, for a LONG time..heh....well I don't know about the contents of the DVD, but I have Hirai Ken's album SENTIMENTALovers, which is GREAT! I love the three single songs, and track #3 too...so cool...He writes good lyrics..I like his style a lot...!!! :dancing:

Hirai ken is really kool but i herd rumor's and my Friend told me he is gay.... before i herd this he used to be my top 3 fav singers ( B'z and this Polish rapper) but if this is true and ( i hope its not) i dont really think i'll like him as much as i use to but still hirai ken is kool.

at least, to me, it doesnt matter if he is gay or not cos all i need is to enjoy his music and songs, isnt it?

the most important is that he still sings. i couldnt be bothered about his private life.

actually I'm also have heard those rumour about HK being gay, and I'm quite dissapointed if the rumour is true. But now, I don't really care whether HK is gay or ot, because like von have said, I enjoy his music, his talent on writing lyrics, his creativity on arrange music, and his voice..

I am a big fan of Hirai-san and canot believe I didn't find this thread earlier! I find his music very relaxing and soothing....especially his "Ken's Bar" album. He is currently my favorite Japanese male solo artist.

My collection:

Albums: "Changing Same," "Gaining Through Losing," "Life Is...," "Ken's Bar," "SENTIMENTALovers."

DVD: "Hirai Ken Live at Budokan 2001," "MTV Unplugged."

Has anybody seen his current 10th Anniversary Tour? How is it? I wish I could attend one of his shows..... :shamefulcry:

Hirai gay? Hmmm, I wouldn't care too much, I mean you should listen to an artist for their talent, not their image...unlike some Jpop artists...
I don't care about someone being gay, my school has a lot of them, and they're just the same as everyone else, some just happen to be more out spoken than "normal" people....

He sure has got talent, so it does not matter if he is gay or not. Wouldn't it be a little too conservative to say that one would stop liking his music because of his sexual preference????? :crazy:

ken's bar isnt that good i let my mom have it cuz it was to jazzy " life is.." is very good get that one and get his single love or lust thats the best song of his u will like it and "hirai Ken remixed" is also good u shuld get all his albums but ken's bar cuz it so boring and makes me yawn. oh yea did anyone see hirai ken with his buzzed head ? it looked so kool
