i heard that before..he is in a band or something..
is the news official or something that he is quitting acting?
:drink: He's finished. Not a nice thing to say, but it shows Akiko Yada made the right decision to leave him. I really hope her career could spring back like the way Hirosue Ryoko's did.

LOL. :hehe:
Yup, a wise decision to drop that dead weight on her career. :victory:
Last month, actor Manabu Oshio (31) received a suspended 18-month sentence in his trial for the use of MDMA (ecstasy). However, it appears that the case is far from over, as police have issued a new arrest warrant for Oshio and two other people.
On August 2nd, Oshio used the drug in a Roppongi apartment with a hostess named Kaori Tanaka. According to Oshio, Tanaka had passed out and her condition worsened. Instead of calling for help, though, he notified his manager, who arrived at the scene. They later left the apartment, and the woman was eventually found dead.
Oshio initially stated that he had obtained the drugs from a friend, but he quickly changed his testimony, declaring that the drugs had come from Tanaka. But based on test results from the investigation, no trace of the drug was detected in Tanaka's hair, making it unlikely that she was a habitual user. Combined with other evidence, police believe that Oshio was the one who gave Tanaka the drug, and they are now planning to arrest Oshio on charges of distribution.
A separate arrest warrant was issued for Oshio's friend who is believed to be his supplier. The third warrant is for Oshio's manager, who will be charged with destruction of evidence because he disposed of Tanaka's cell phone on the night of the incident.
Police have also determined that Oshio had provided drugs to other women that he dated in the past. One of the women is said to be a currently popular model who appears in fashion magazines and television, though her name was not identified by the media. She is reportedly cooperating with police in their investigation.

I read about this too. He's on a winning streak.
I wonder if he could/should face murder charges. I mean if the women was in 'terrible condition', he could've/should've seeked some sort of medical help. To me it seem like he & his manager left her to die.
Manabu Oshio receives 30 month sentence
Fri, September 17, 2010 (11:06am EDT)
The trial of Manabu Oshio ended on Friday with a partial guilty verdict. Prosecutors demanded a six-year prison sentence, but he was given only two and a half years. The conviction was handed down by three professional judges and six lay judges, as Oshio was the first celebrity to be tried under the "saiban-in" system that was reintroduced in Japan in May 2009.
Oshio was acquitted of negligence in the death of Ginza hostess Kaori Tanaka. The two had taken ecstasy (MDMA) together on the night of August 2, 2009, at a Roppongi apartment. At around 6:00pm that night, Tanaka showed signs of acute drug poisoning, and her estimated time of death was between 6:47pm and 6:53pm. Instead of calling for help, Oshio had notified his manager and later left the scene.
Prosecutors argued that Tanaka could have been saved if Oshio had immediately called for an ambulance instead of trying to escape responsibility. However, based on the quick change in her condition, the jury concluded that even if Oshio had called 119, there is still much doubt that Tanaka could have been saved.
Oshio was still found in violation of the narcotics control laws and was convicted on counts of acceptance and possession. He was already found guilty of use in a separate trial last November.
Oshio's lawyer filed to appeal the ruling on the same day.
