Oh yeah! I've been wondering. I heard of this girl who wanted to major in Spanish in college but didn't take a fourth year Spanish course, so she didn't get in with that major. And my school's so poor that it doesn't offer Japanese, so can I still major in Japanese in college?

haha i know how u feel... but when i was in Beijing i really felt left out...but i had my cousin as a translated!!! I guess i should really learn manda...but i have no interest in it...i rather learn japanese so i can understand my idols...but then again i can argue i shouldnt learn a new lanuage until i sort out my soso cantonese...hahaha

of course you can!! all you need to do is take the basic japanese courses first year, then take more later on in uni. i never knew you couldn't major in a language course if you didn't take it the last year of school. i guess it depends on the university tho.

i wanna go to taiwan!!!! so nice there, and i like the mandarin there a LOT more than the china way. hehehee. i'm interesting in learning mandarin, it's just that my teacher sucks, i'm so set in my cantonese ways (which sucks), and i hate simplified chinese characters!!!!! they're so hideous!

I think it was more like, "you can't major in Spanish because you only met the minimum requirement for the language course to graduate high school, so you're not really majoring in Spanish because you're interested, so we won't take you for college." That really sucks...

He looked good in Gokusen... really good. But then in Densha Otoko, he just wasn't as attractive.

seriously?? i think that's ridiculous. what if someone didn't have enough time to take the course??
but you can always take the basic basic japanese courses and then work your way up. and i'm taking french during uni, and there's a LOT of different levels of it even for first year. so i think it could be the same way for spanish.

I don't know why that happened. I mean I'd be more than happy to take a community college Japanese course at night or something, but with work and school to juggle, I barely have a weekend free.
