It seems systemic....
I've been having problems with all Ruroshin-hosted sites today... :bleh:

Maybe a router died, hacker, virus, spammer or something. :banghead:
I tried the namespace server ADDICTS-SEIKAI.NET and it takes forever before showing "Move along, nothing to see here."

Did a little search with the IP address and there are no problems with layeredtech. (If it's the host)

not sure if it was deliberate or not but somebody was openning up a ton of connections to this site, kinda of a DoS attack. I've banned that IP for now.

I wonder if there is a way to automate that. Essentially ban an IP temporarily if there is an unusual amount of connections from it. It would unban after a predetermined period of time.

Well whatever it was, it worked...
All the other sites seem to be running at normal speed now too...

I had that on at one point but too many ppl complained that they were banned :beatyou:

Thank you for solving the problem! :woot:
One more day and I would have been in the closet, fetal position, sucking my thumb and saying over and over again, it's gone... it's gone... :beaten: :ashamed:

I think when this forum is migrating some of the Ip got blocked by default perhaps that's why they think it got banned? Is that making sense or not? :beaten: Seriously I cannot access this site during at work. Yes I do check this site during lunch hour (for refreshment hehehehe) I assume my Ip got accidentally blocked. I can still access this site at home though.

This is agonizing.

Maybe it would be better to shut down the site and fix the problem(s) rather than let it crawl and frustrate the crap out of everybody.... :puppydog:

just banned a few more IPs they seem to come from servers with no websites on them and they're using way to many connections to be legit users, I bet they're scrapping info off jdorama.
12 Nov 2005, 13:45 #274
hopefully that will help...it's been crawling over the last few days. Really irritating.

Hmm, whatever you did seems to have done the job: things appear to be relatively smooth running right now...

Of course, now I've jinxed things. :ashamed:

Told ya: the site hiccuped for about five minutes.

I noticed that jumping from forum to forum is pretty quick, but opening some threads seem to take a while...

It's fast for me, but yesterday, it sometimes took like 2 seconds by line. :headscratch:
