I think she got it from Tom Cruise when they were on that UFO:

TOKYO - Japan's prime minister is known for being bland in his speeches. His wife, however, is anything but.

Miyuki Hatoyama, a former actress and wife of Yukio Hatoyama promises to become one of Japan's most colorful first ladies ever.

A strong believer in spiritualism, Hatoyama said in a TV appearance earlier this year she met U.S. actor Tom Cruise — in a previous life. She also claims that her soul has traveled to Venus on a UFO.

"I have a dream that I still believe will come true, which is to make a film in Hollywood," she told a TV talk show in May. "The lead actor is Tom Cruise, of course. Why? Because I know he was Japanese in a previous life.

"I was with him then. So he would recognize me when I see him and say 'long time, no see!'"

Either he has no fashion sense, defers to his wife's direction or just doesn't care. I've NEVER seen a shirt like that!

I wouldn't use a shirt like that to wipe off my car. :beaten:

Then his wife is smarter than you think. ;) That shirt is pefect for what he is doing. It won't show any stains or grease splatters from the chicken on the grill. And afterwards when it reeks of barbeque smoke you know he will never wear that one-of-a-kind shirt ever again. It has a fun kooky aspect to it like something a small child would wear to a picnic. :D Plus he sure doesn't blend into the crowd. :hehe:

Good. We need a couple of butterfly collars if we are going to have a stylish yakisoba cook out. :beaten:

I prescribe to the same theory = guerrilla Japanese language tactics.

Kawai !!! And itLs a though job so kudos to them  :applaud:

My colleague was meant to fly to Tokyo to go on a three week cycling tour. He just texted me that heLs flight has been cancelled because of the volvano ashes. But the problem is that the next available flight is on the 27th of April - in 10 days.

That sucks! If he does come out on the 27th let him know that the 28th is the start of Golden Week.

^good point! Will do so! I believe the initial plan was that they would be cycling around Kyoto during Golden Week and they had of course booked all ryokans well in advance. I check with him on Monday - the poor chap is coming to work, that must be the worst  .

I don't think I can last half an inning doing what they do. They are definitely fit.

Great photos! So cute.

The important thing is to last more than half inning drinking though. :drink:
