If that's why your ashamed to be a human.....
Humans commit far more worse acts than hurting animals.

You're right ! Human beings are the most cruel creatures on this planet !

It's probably because of our intellectual and emotional complexity. That and complex language and the opposable thumb is the only think that makes us different from animals. With all that complexity, it's not surprising that people have screws loose somewhere. I probably do too. Sometimes, I wish I could be an animal too....

...... thats sumethin else,
id never ever wear fur.
but i must say id never wish to be an animal

hhahahahaha,
i get what your saying Ushiroyubi .
and i agree with u totally,
animal rights are super important, but some ppl take it out of hand
when they forget about other great battles that we have gotta fight for.
such as our own existance!
us meaning the human race in general. id do anything i could to help protect the animals who cant protect themselves.
but U's point is dont allow yer luv fer animals come before your respect and loyalty for men.

I too have a major problem with fur for fur sake.

But it is sort of difficult to draw a line, isn't it? Do you eat meat? Do you eat beef? Do you eat fish? Do you eat chicken? Where do you draw the line?

Why say this little chicken is ok to eat but don't eat the parrot. Or why eat a cow but not a horse? How about the lamb? Ok then, what about a dog or cat?

How can one really draw a line and say killing one animal for food is ok, but killing another is wrong. If you say cats and dogs are household pets, what about pot bellied pigs? If pigs are pets why not have cows as pets? Maybe they'll breed a dwarf cow no larger than a great dane, hell great danes look like cows as it is...

Where do we draw the line? Is it just arbitrary. Because someone said horses, cats and dogs are pets and cows, pigs and chickens are food? Then it really is just arbitrary, isn't it. We eat those guys over there, but we don't eat our friends. Then where do you draw the line?

Back to the issue at point: Does full utilty make killing an animal acceptable? Is leather ok, so long as it comes from an animal that has been used for food and somewhat humanely killed? But then fur is bad because the animals it comes from are wasted, and the animals are inhumanely treated and abused during the killing process?

I am not a vegitarian, although when I rationally think about it I could very easily become one...

I don't have any answers to these questions. Yes, I do think about these poor creatures that give their lives to us, and thank them for their sacrifice, especially when I am cooking dinner.

My feeling is that the human beings are not higher than the animals . We ALL have the right to live on this planet .
I'm a vegetarian for a very long time , I have seen the way that animals are killed in slaughterhouses and that disgusted me . That's my choice , a lot of people don't understand me , I don't care .
We, humans , don't need to eat animals to feel good and healthy !
The food chain ? let's cross the road of a tiger and see what happens !
I don't hate people who eat meat , that's their choice and I respect it . BUT if animals are killed to be eaten , then , I wish that they're killed without pain , fast and with respect .
Killing animals for their skins , in the most horrible way... I don't agree ! When I see all those singers and actresses with fur coats ( Jenifer Lopez , Beyonce , etc ...... ) , I want to kick their fucking butt !

I eat meat but sometimes I hate the fact that those poor animals are killed for our sake...it's like a human killing a human except it's animal and I sometimes wonder that they arrest human killing a human so why wouldn't they arrest the humans who kills animals....we need to live off meat when we are young to grow and stay healthy but it's about time that they make more of those fake meat foods...

I really agree with what you are saying. It's true, how come it is okay to call some animals food and others not? it does not make too much sense. I think it is society and depending on what culture, some animals are worshipped while others are killed for human consumption. and speaking of vegetarianism, some people are really strict vegetarians to the point where they won't eat eggs because eggs is unborn and is connected to life, so they don't eat eggs. vegetarian lifestyle i think is good if people can learn to live that way, but in my opinion, being a vegetarian to obtain good health and a more "pure" eating lifestyle is fine. but some ppl are veg. because they want to not be a part of the killing of animals. no one can stop the chain of life and majority of ppl are carnivores.

I am slowly becoming a vegetarian. It's hard because was raised with eating meats all the time. Now, eating less and less for healthwise and because animal hormones are not good, so don't want to consume too much. Working on trying to go 100% vegetarian lifestyle. So far now, in one day I eat only a couple to few bites of meat (usually chicken). sometimes only consume 1 chicken wing in one meal in one day.

heard that ppl don't eat horses because if eat horse meat then will lose teeth. don't know if this is true, but that is what ppl have said. as for lamb, it is said that pregnant woman should not eat lamb because it may cause the baby to have abnormalness. also pregnant women are not suppose to eat sausages because of the outside lining of it. as for dogs, cats, mice, parrots, there are many countries that eat them and they are not seen as pets.

another point... animals kill animals, they eat each other... who can stop this from happening? majority of animals are carnivores, they eat each other in order to survive.

What has surprised me in the last couple of years is how popular fur has become. Even in the USA, where musicians and actors are known for espousing environmental, humanitarian, and animal-rights causes, fur has become popular once more.

Look at everyone's winter coats... the hoods all have either real or fake fur around them.

Yeah, in the USA, winter coats with fur lined hoods are really popular, especially among women. Also, women's winter boots with fur lining are popular this year.

OK, time for another view (or amplify what's already here).

What about cultures that strip furried animals for warmth in the winter time. Who or what is admonishing those -- dare I say, indigenous-based --civilizations, "hey, don't take all that fur!" at least (oh, I'll be more than fair and state) at least 1/2 the time that some protesters stage themselves outside of stores or company headquarters?

Or is it a matter of how certain clothing companies are being targeted?

And which side do you think has a better semblance -- and better resources to do so -- deliberately replace what they take?

One is more barbaric than the other?

Ah-haaaaaaa . . . please post ya'll answer and cite sources, pls. :victory: .

P.S. one more thing . . . next time you visit the dentist, tell him to point out exactly which of your teeth designate humans as those intended to include meat in their diet.

I don't care about fashion . It's not because one famous singer wears a fur coat that you have to do the same . Don't you think ?

there are so many people in this world, how can they all be tracked down to stop the hurting of animals. it is not just people hurting animals, but people hurting people. people have been trying to stop people from hurting people, but it continues.

people are going to do what they want to do. no matter how strict the law is, there will always be someone doing something that everyone does not want them to do.
