Well actually from where I live, going to Pacific Mall is a pretty lengthy bus ride, and going to Kensington market is the same.
I guess the JE merchandise is pretty pricey, but you have to remember shipping, so some of the things end up being approximately the same price as you buying off Yesasia. Two stores sell real JE merchandise. Broadcast, and this other one near the escalators in Pacific Mall, but I think they're closing down. I've bought Arashi singles from them, and seen a few Kanjani 8 CDs (that I was whining about wanting to buy but I never bought them cuz I'm poor XD) If you look for magazines, they won't have Myojo, you should just flip through any Japanese magazines. I saw a Men's Non-no with Okada Junichi or w/e his name is on the cover. A knowledge of japanese is good for looking through them.
About the Nobuta wo Produce... NEEEEVERRRR EEEEEEVER buy Japanese dramas from Pacific Mall unless you don't need subtitles. The ones that sell VCDs have chinese subtitles only, and the box sets have chinese too, but they're nicer. You can only get Japanese movies subbed, but make sure to check the back to see if they have english subtitles.. Sometimes they even lie too -_-;
