I knew Gasol was a racist ...... Bad Pau, Very Bad Pau !!! :shakehead:
you would think that one time is bad enough already but apparently this pose is quite the rage in the Spaniard part of the Olympic Village in Beijing. Here is the spanish tennis federation with their 'affectionate' chinese pose:

Just watched Phelps win his seventh gold medal of these games, but it was oh so close. Hard to tell with the replays shown, but whatever review took place held up and Phelps takes yet another gold. Congrats to Phelps! :victory:

Com'on dude...we all know you like to watch those 8 years olds on the balance beam...pretty soon they'll be using the pummel horse to change the diapers on even younger girls after they take a sh*t.

Dude, you got me confused with another member here. :beaten:
I'm afraid to know who it is.
And I haven't really been watching the Olympics a lot, but from what I did see, I really enjoyed the swimming and diving events. They really make me wish I could swim. :shamefulcry:

Bring on the track and field events and basketball... Please. :fingerscrossed:
Add beach volleyball to that list. I'm totally sick of seeing the same team over and over again or at least show those girls who dance around during a timeout. That would make it worthwhile.

Yup.
I know a lot of people wanna see the U.S. in various events, but it's just too much. :bleh:

Well, if you live in the USA, NBC is gonna predictably hit you over the head with swimming and gymnastics ... cause Americans are expected to medal in those events. I'm sure the viewers in China are bombarded with badminton, ping-pong, and gymnastics cause they're good at it. Put another way, would you or NBC care about Phelps so much if he weren't American?
BTW, if you really want to see the other events, go online. Even with no commentary, there's some great coverage there. :victory:
Australian girls are undefeated, bring on the USA!
Yup, basketball's been on for a whole week already. Although there've been lots of blowouts, it's been kinda interesting to see some of the best ballers from other countries. :)
And I saw the USA men's "dream team" having trouble with Greece the other night.
Technically, it's no longer the "Dream Team" .. instead the "Redeem Team." :applaud:
Not sure if you could say winning by 23pts and leading all the way meant "trouble" for Team USA. "Having trouble" was when USA lost to Greece in 2006 and only ended up in 3rd place. :grumble:

I actually don't care about Phelps or his records.
I'm not that nationalistic when it comes to Olympic sports, save only for basketball.
There have been some articles in the paper about jingoism on NBC's part, but it doesn't seem to have curbed things...
After today with Phelps' last race, the hype machine will hopefully finally run out of steam and we can move on to OTHER athletes...
