Yup, too bad Ginobli and Nocioni both barely played due to injury ... the game could've gotten even more interesting ...

I bet if none of the USA starters ever played in this Olympics ... even the backups could win the gold. Talent-wise, that'd be a guarantee .. but they've been playing unselfishly and quality D too. :applaud:

The prime directive was to play suffocating D: in 2004, they got pick-and-rolled to death.

Looks like I'm staying up late tonight to watch the US-Spain basketball final...

Let's see if Spain puts up more of a fight this time around. :beaten:

U.S. beats Spain, giving both the men's and women's basketball team gold medals. :victory:

Side note: Nice to hear the old NBA on NBC theme music being used again.

It was nice to see Spain give the US a challenge for the gold medal. At least they can say it was well earned.

After that, I watched a bit of the mountain biking and right now, NBC is showing the gold medal match in table tennis.

Yeah, the Aussie girls were outclassed in womens basketball. They really did the job on Lauren Jackson and Penny Taylor.

The woman in blue is Kyoko Hamaguchi. This is a freeze frame taken from the broadcast of the bronze medal match which she won (she also won the bronze medal in Athens).

OK, here's the funny thing of this shot which was part of a slo-mo replay: as the replay showed Hamaguchi doing this, the announcer actually said "what we call going behind and coming out that backdoor."

Beemer, you've seen her before--Hamaguchi was the muscular woman who appeared on a Dotchi episode with her father, the pro wrestler known as Animal Hamaguchi.
