Yep, he was Rod again. Didn't find a costume he liked enough to buy and ran short of time for making one. Besides Rod is always a favorite and we were at a new place so I was the only one who'd seen it before. :victory:

That meerkat is adorable.

From Apple to Pumpkin \ Stanford student carves Steve Jobs tribute

Since the Oct. 5 death of Apple co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs, admirers the world over have memorialized him on posters and post-it notes, with flowers and apples. But Stanford medical student Raymond Tsai had a different tribute in mind.

Tsai has been carving intricate pumpkins since 2006 and decided to pay tribute to Jobs with this yearfs jack-o-lantern creation. He has only tried carving a personfs likeness one other time, in 2009, after Michael Jackson died.

gI usually only carve people that I am inspired by or touched by,h Tsai said. gSteve Jobs, I think, is just an inspirational person for a variety of reasons. Ifm not sure how to put it into words yetc but hefs like the epitome of resilience in terms of overcoming barriers to succeed. He was so talented and such a visionary and was able to change an entire industry.h

Tsai estimates that he spent five and a half hours creating his pumpkin masterpiece: two hours mapping the cuts and three and a half hours actually carving.

gIt is just amazing, and such an inspiration, to be so good at something, and to love something so much that you persevere no matter what anyone else says about your work,h Tsai said of Jobs.

gAs someone who is still trying to figure out what to do in my own life, [Jobs] is a great role model in terms of finding what you love to do, what youfre passionate about, and excelling at that so much so, that you make a really impact on society.h

I have no idea what to dress up as this year! I'm debating on going as "Fifty Shades of Gray". It's the scariest thing I've come across all year.

I cant decide either. In a pinch I'll go as the Swamp Fairy again.

So Im fascinated by what you'll come up with for your depiction of that novel.
Sounds creepy indeed.

We have tickets to the big Halloween Ball that the radio station gives. My mother is visiting, so she has brought an antique kimono and wig for a little geisha action. :victory:

I gave up on 50 Shades of Gray. I shoulda stuck with it but I ran out of time this weekend (it was my birthday weekend) and now Hurricane Sandy is coming so leaving the house to find/buy different fabrics is not gonna happen.

I may just do something with my face now. Stapled eye or something.

My neighbor is disappointed. No one rang his doorbell last night. He bought a Romney costume. He said it'll be useless next year.
