while maximizing their d/l rates off others,
sounds like the whole buy low sell high theory... :argh: :headscratch:

you still need to port forward your setup to get those faster speeds, meng.

well, is there any effect on our dload if we limit our upload bandwith? (sorry, way off topic).

it might depend on your particular bittorrent client...i use azureus and i usually limit my upload speed to about 70 to 75 percent of my max potential...if you don't limit your upload by some measure you might not get the best download rates...

thanks. it was unclear. i heard some people said it will make dload faster since you dont use up much bandwidth on uploading. on the other hand, somebody said it will slow down our dload for some reason that i didn't really understand.

yeah you have to limit it a little not down to a trickle, for efficiency sake.

been using ABC-bittornado, it's ok....
i set up upload limit to around 15 kb/s, not sure if that make much of a difference. but have been thinking of switching over to another BT client like Bitcomet, how's your client, Tu?

i've only ever been using azureus ... i love the interface but it sucks a lot of RAM when downloading several torrents...that part about it sux ass...but i'm happy otherwise..no problems and easy to manipulate the parameters of the program.

I really started out with Azureus.. But I only have Azureus at work and BitComet at home.. I find Azureus easier to manipulate.. I DL using wireless net that's why prolly it takes forever...

btw.. OT.. but my ethernet port is busted.. I'm planning to send it back because it's under warranty with circuitcity.. I don't know how it happened though.. but whenever I connect the DSL cable, it doesn't light up or connect...

gah.. wrong explanation.. uhm.. the port where you connect your dsl cable... that's the one that's busted.. it doesn't light up when i plug the cable in and it won't connect..

i'm wary though that i might have separation anxiety from my laptop :puppydog:
