There is whole world of difference. Saying that erika Sawajiri has crooked tooth is way different than saying that MatsuJun or insert any male actor looks like a monkey or any other deregatory, baseless comment on thier looks or abilities (comments which actually appear in this forum quite regularly). What would be be equivalent to the crooked tooth comment is saying something like MatsuJun has humungous, unproportionate lips or that Ryo is ridiculously short. Because those comments are quantifiable and based on actual facts. Sadly, if you look around, and I'm sure you've seen such posts, bashing on male actors in this forum are way harsher and more irrational than that crooked tooth comment.
I've said this before, there is a bias against fan girls in this forum. (One example i've recently seen is having HanaKimi being dismissed as a worthless series just because it is full of pretty boy actors) It's not a secret. But we've learned to live and cope with it despite the occassional infuriation that we feel whenever we come across posts such as the one that obentou pointed out. However, we (and not just "fan girls" were involved in this. Both male and female members of this forum had something to say about that) discuss the negative points about one actress and it becomes a big deal.
Maybe you don't read the stuff we post about our own idols, but if you notice, kami pa nga ang nangungunang mang-bash sa male idols namin.
evil_zai has no qualms posting horrendous pictures of Kame with ugly, permed hair. I have no problem saying that Takuya Kimura is vertically challenged (even wears elevator shoes occassionally) and also has ugly teeth. (not just crooked, but ugly - which I think is not uncommon among the Japanese).
Iceuck makes fun of Ryo's height as well. Oh, and just recently, Ayu has been called an alien. But we all still felt sad when we found out that she broke up with Nagase. Nobody raised any furor about any of these. I assume that since other members outside this thread can freely make homosexual jokes about TegoMass or the "lack of talent" of "KRAPTTUN"'s as they like to refer to that band, then such things shouldn't be a big deal.
I dunno, i think if you make a tally of the bashing that male celebs get in this forum versus the bashing that female stars get, I'm pretty sure that male actors will win that tally by a landslide. Oh, and I'm sure that they're not as sensitive to such comments as common, non-celeb people are. I mean, they're used to it. And if they're not, they have to. I know, I know, they are people too with feelings but they know that hearing stuff like that being said about them is part of the job.
I'm not inciting any heated arguments out of this reply. I just want to say my sentiments as maturely and as intelligently as possible to clear out this issue. Because if you have issues about the bashing that goes around this forum, then we got heaps of it too, even starting from way, way back.

You have no idea how long we "fan girls" have been praying that that message spreads across all members of this forum.
Oh, and i apologize to the other members for dragging your names in this post. I hope that this will be the last that I'll say about this because I've said my piece and that's it....i hope.
EDIT:
Last na tlg, hehe. In reference to Rina's post...di naman po ako galit. Just really want to express my take on that incident at yang flow of words na yan eh general angst ko na tlg yan about the general attitude versus fan girls in this forum. Like I said, di naman secret sa tin yan, at alam ko naman di lang naman ako ang dismayado jan. But like I said, chillax lang at tuloy tuloy pa rin ang chikahan :victory:
