Although I wholeheartedly agree, I won't comment further on those other two celebs you mentioned, else I'll get flamed.
Why? Got something against those two?

I'd like to see her in a role where's she's really intelligent, sophisticated, and confident... Like she appears to be in Kagayaku Onna and her other real-life videos... :victory:
That would be lovely. Now if there's any romance involved, all we need is for her love interest to fall for her...not the other way around. Now that I think about it, I noticed 90% of her characters never had any luck with romance, which is pure BS :bleh: For a girl as good looking as Juri-chan, her track record of being dumped left and right sure is pretty amazing :shakehead: (her characters, not her in real life :beaten:)

I wasn't really disappointed with the Five Bags: I found them to be quirky, like Juri-chan (appears to be) herself... True, they could've been longer to allow more character and plot development, but I think they were an interesting experiment. :)
Experiment? Now that you mentioned it, it sure felt like I was the only one to expect anything good out of this at all...now I feel stupid... :(

Before watching, I've been well-prepared that WOWOW dorama will be a lot weirder, unusual in terms of story plot, compared with common seasonal dorama. I found some scene are uninteresting as well (if it were not for Juri, I probably wouldn't watch it). But there are also some that I really love. Like episode 2..I just love love it. I think she did a briliant job there. Also, ep 4 is fun to watch.
I think I set my expectations way too high. I didn't follow the promotional news closely and thought it was gonna like normal dramas. I can handle quirky like Swing Girls, Summer Time or Turtle, but Kaban just plain didn't make sense every single episode. And it has that incomplete vibe as if you only got a little piece of a complete storyline :( If I had to choose though I think my fav is episode 1 simply because I liked the plot the best ;)
flamethunder85 wrote:Never seriously rehearsed?! You are questioning her professionalism.
No, I'm not  For me it just felt like the director handed her the script and told her to dress-up, memorize her lines and prepare herself in a matter of 15 minutes

Oh..I didn't feel that.
The characters all have different looks, different names and different jobs, but they all seemed like the same person. Well, I don't think Juri-chan had enough material to work with either, the characters just felt undefined to me...that and you can pretty much collect all her dialogues from all episodes and fit them in a piece of paper I'm sure. No chance to even begin to immerse herself into the acting. So yea, not her fault ;)
