I think she is fantastic in Engine. Certainly deserves to be on the A list.

Since I don't posses the Manga/Anime gene, I was not enchanted with her in Nodame Cantabile. I don't like cartoons that imitate people and shows that have people trying to imitate cartoons. Too slapstick for me with bodies slammed around and people talking and acting jerky. It keeps the drama from flowing smoothlyl... so I will have to take a pass on NC and just bear the brunt of cries of foul that will be lasered my way. :ashamed:

I will have to watch Orange Days again as I can't recall her role.

I hope to see her in lots more non manga imitation dramas. I do enjoy dramas that are based on Manga such as Nana where the actors play their roles like real people.... and maybe she will get a chance to perform in such a drama as a real person.

Did you ever watch Swing Girls?

Her role in Orange Days was pretty small... But she hit it big with Swing Girls not long after that.

actually 'orange days' was after 'swing girls'. :)

According to the broadcast dates, Orange Days debuted in the spring of 2004, whereas Swing Girls debuted in the fall of 2004...

There is Tsubasa no Oreta Tenshitachi and though it's not a drama, Kagayaku Onna. :)

You are absolutely correct - the first episode of Orange Days was aired on 2004-04-11, whereas Swing Girls hit the cinemas on 2004-09-11.

I watched Swing Girls.
Yes. She is very good in that . I'm going to watch it again to focus on her more intensely. :woot:
