I was thinking the same thing... :)
There was mention of a Swing Girls sequel... Wonder if it was just a rumor... I'd love to see a sequel... If it were done right.

It would HAVE to be done right...or it would be a mess...Think about it, using only the 5 principal actors, what could they do?...
Let's make this a speculation...what would you imagine a Swing Girls sequel would be?

Hmm, I suppose they try to continue their playing into college, but they struggle trying to keep the band together while trying to study at the same time and dealing with the hijinks that come with college life... :beaten:

Here we go, Here we go ...We have a Winner even before there are any other contestants...A man who truly understands the odd logic of Japanese film and television...

LOL, you're giving me too much credit.
Like the first movie, I think you have to maintain the same light tone and not try to make it melodramatic or have a profound message... Just have fun and load it with more great music... :)
My two cents... Now to forward the message to Yaguchi Shinobu. :victory:

That really was the heart of SG...have fun growing up and figuring yourself out...with great music in the process

Exactly.
A simple formula that works... Just don't make it redundant.

The Waterboys dramatizations maintained the venue but changes the principal players (although one returned as an instructor). Maybe Swing Girls can go that path too.
I think it is difficult to get the 5 girls and boys together, let along all 17. Having them behave as bungling college students may ruin the whole feel - although I wasn't exactly a model of sophistication in my college days.
Tough one. I wonder if Yaguchi (director) could pull this off?

All the scans are located in one zip file... You just have to find the link. ;)
I couldn't find the link.
I hope they don't make a sequel. Swing Girls just isn't set up for one, and is good as a standalone. If they did make it, it'd probably be with a new cast of characters, perhaps with maybe the teacher or the only "guy" coming back.
Plus, by the time they come out with it, most of the cast members would be all grown up and it would've lost it's cuteness.

That's what I wouldn't want: it smacks of Gokusen 2... The very definition of garbage.
The point of doing a sequel would be to see the progression of the main players, not a rehash of he same story with a new cast. :bleh:

As I said above, a rehash would be undesirable and unforgivable...

Getting them together might be difficult, but many thought the same for Ocean's 11, yet they've done three already...
I never said that they would be bungling college students... But more like struggling college students, trying to deal with college and their love of Jazz music... ;)

Any suggestions that Juri-sama is 'just a faze' will be severely dealt with, including but not limited to castration with a blunt knife, hanging by the big toes from a 24th floor window, and scalping with the use of mercury...
