A lot depends on the direction. Some directors can let the worst actors do alright. Mitani Koki managed to let even Inagaki Goro act well in University of Laughs
Not a clue if Takahiro Miki can manage to pull this off with Matsumoto though

End of filming!!

I'm awfully late to report it, but as the news said,

the movie "Her Sunny Side" has safely ended filming.

The cast and staff were so truly wonderful,

that it would have been nice if filming had continued on forever.

Articles that let you know about this set atmosphere are publicized one after another.

"CUT" (3/19 on sale)
"non-no" (3/20 on sale)
"Hanako" (3/28 on sale)
"MORE" (3/28 on sale)

There will be debut photos, and long awaited interviews too.

Please be sure to check it out, everyone.

-------------------------------------

I kept the translation a bit bland to show you how vague Japanese can be. Mr/Ms manager is obviously talking about Juri, but you just can't tell from the text at all. I would normally insert a "she" or "her" here and there to make it look like English.

I said "Please."

Or should have it been "kudasai" instead of "onegaishimasu" ? :headscratch:

I expected at least a kudasai and a yoroshiku onegaitashimasu.

(Actually, I don't really know what is more appropriate in what situation. I'm in J->E mode too much. I should practise E->J more.)

think 'kudasai' involves asking to physically receive something..?

Just found this:

Q. What is the difference between "kudasai" and "onegaishimasu"?

A. Both "kudasai i‚‚¾‚³‚¢j" and "onegaishimasu i‚¨Šè‚¢‚µ‚Ü‚·j" are used when making a request for items. "Kudasai i‚‚¾‚³‚¢j" follows the object and the particle "o".
Kitte o kudasai.
ØŽè‚ð‚‚¾‚³‚¢B Please give me stamps.

Mizu o kudasai.
…‚ð‚‚¾‚³‚¢B Water, please.

"Onegaishimasu" can be replaced with "kudasai" in the examples above. It sounds a little more polite. The particle "o" can be omitted in this case.
Kitte (o) onegaishimasu.
ØŽè (‚ð) ‚¨Šè‚¢‚µ‚Ü‚·B Please give me stamps.

Mizu (o) onegaishimasu.
… (‚ð) ‚¨Šè‚¢‚µ‚Ü‚·B Water, please.

However, there are some situations when only "onegaishimasu" is used.

(1) When making a request for service.
Tokyo eki made onegaishimasu.
“Œ‹ž‰w‚܂ł¨Šè‚¢‚µ‚Ü‚·B Tokyo Station, please. (to a taxi driver)

Kokusai denwa onegaishimasu.
‘Û“d˜b‚¨Šè‚¢‚µ‚Ü‚·B Overseas telephone call, please.
(on the phone)

(2)When asking for someone on the phone.
Kazuko-san onegaishimasu.
˜aŽq‚³‚ñ‚¨Šè‚¢‚µ‚Ü‚·B May I speak to Kazuko?

For making requests that involve action (please listen etc.), the verb "te form" is added to "kudasai". "Onegaishimasu" can not be used in this case.
Chotto matte kudasai.
‚¿‚å‚Á‚Ƒ҂Á‚Ä‚‚¾‚³‚¢B Wait a moment, please.

Ashita kite kudasai.
–¾“ú—ˆ‚Ä‚‚¾‚³‚¢B Please come tomorrow.
