It seems that MU indeed asks for money when someone wants to download a file larger than 500MB, even if the file was uploaded by a premium member.

I have just greased MU's greedy palms by paying to make the link I posted a hot link. Please try to click it and see if the download works now.

I'm just glad it is working for you now. In any case I didn't pay for a permanent link - I chose the 100GB bandwidth option which is good for around 100 downloads.
